That is the end of oneness. However, if it is a seer and a listener, why would it become a listener? If it is the nature of the seer, how can it be separated from its own nature and produce another nature? Therefore, it will be separated from nature. This fault also exists, that it is not considered knowledge and permanence. Because it is a variable distinction. It is not one, because there are two ways, like the form of other bodies. This means that I, the seer, also become the listener, that is not the knowledge of the seer itself, nor is it considered permanent, because it is a variable distinction. A variable distinction means that it is capable of transforming into distinctions such as seeing and hearing. Whatever is capable of transforming into another nature is not the nature of knowledge itself, nor is it permanent. For example, the nature of permanence is the unchanging nature and the inseparable from nature. When it was previously a seer, and then at some point becomes a listener, its nature seems to have changed, and it is separated from nature. If my nature is considered to be the same, then it is not the same, because it has become two ways, like the form of other bodies. Therefore, it is neither the nature of knowledge itself, nor is it permanent, nor is it the same, so it will only become without nature. Similarly, the sense of the eye, is not considered to be the action of focusing on form. If separated from mind, because it is different from the seer, like hearing and so on. This means that if for a moment it is not different from the collection of senses, then it is impossible for it to act on its own characteristics. However, if it is different, then like other things, just as the ear is not the action of focusing on form, neither is the eye the action. Since the sense that is not separated from mind is considered to be seeing in all established tenets, therefore, if it is separated from mind, then the eye is different from the seer, therefore it is specially stated with reason. The Samkhyas say: Our tenet is this, the senses make contact with the object.

So it is. When the senses meet their objects, the mind makes a judgment accordingly. When the mind has judged, pride becomes arrogant. When pride becomes arrogant, wisdom contemplates. The object contemplated by wisdom appears to the individual, just as clear water, merely by being near, can reflect the image of the moon in a beneficial place, like the saying about watching, and so on. The very nature of the individual truly exists, and when other phenomena arise and other phenomena cease, the nature of the individual does not disappear, nor does it depart from its own nature. Therefore, the individual is neither impermanent, nor without self-nature, nor multiple, nor a non-agent. If someone thinks this way, it is said here: "That is not the seer, because it depends on the eye, etc., because it changes according to the mind, and because the image appears in the same way." This means that if it were the nature of the seer, then it should not depend on the collection of agents. It is also impermanent, because it changes, like milk, etc. It cannot be the seer, because it reflects an image, like water reflecting the image of a face. If someone thinks that the mind also sees as it is, this is also unreasonable, because the mind cannot grasp an object that the eyes, etc., cannot see. Therefore, for the time being, the mind itself is not the nature of the seer, and similarly, how can I become the seer? Therefore, it is said: "How is the seer the same as the mind, because it is not seen by other senses?" Here, the senses refer to the senses. "Other" means a sense other than the other senses. The remaining meaning has already been said. Furthermore, if the mind is truly, it does not desire to see like me. This means that just as it is prevented that I am not the seer, it is also prevented that the mind is not the seer. How is it prevented? Here, is the mind the nature of the seer, or is it the nature of the non-seer? If it is said to be the nature of the seer, then even a person without eyes would have sight. If it is said not to be the nature of the seer,
