It is so. Similarly, samsara should also be observed. Therefore, this reason is not established because the beginning of samsara is unknown. Furthermore, if it is said that because he did not know that the extremely beautiful one was killed, he did not protect her, then, if it could be done by the power of the Buddha, all sentient beings would attain nirvana. The heretics, within seven days, for the sake of wealth and jealousy, themselves declared: 'I killed the beautiful woman.' When asked by the Bhagavan, he said to speak on the seventh day, so he did not speak. Therefore, the Bhagavan abandoned sentient beings, but he did not not know. Therefore, because he knew that the extremely beautiful one was killed, it is not that he is not omniscient. Just as when a rope is broken, a tree falls to the ground, and seeing the retinue of people with the king, they are all very amazed. In order to reveal it, the protector did not change it. Entering the Sala village, he did the work of benefiting sentient beings. Because he had already conquered the demon, there was no work of the demon there. The heroes with the Shravaka Sangha, there the alms were interrupted, and it was not seen that their minds were discouraged, and many were certain to attain enlightenment. Therefore, it should be observed that returning like washing a bowl is to protect the future time. When those almsmen enter the village for alms, if they do not receive food, they will think like this: Even the Tathagata who has accumulated merit well returns like washing a bowl, what about someone like me whose roots of virtue are very small? The demon also cannot obstruct the merit of the Bhagavan. However, it should be observed that this is only to fully ripen sentient beings. There, when the Tathagata and the Shravaka Sangha stop teaching the Dharma, the demons and the gods of the demon class and other sons of the gods also look at the minds of these people with their minds to see if their minds are discouraged, degenerated, or displeased. Therefore, the Bhagavan and the Shravaka Sangha, they

Because the earth's mind was uneasy, or had not become inferior, seventy thousand sons of gods prostrated with great joy, and after hearing the Dharma, their Dharma eyes were purified. The Thus-Gone One also knew that for three months, those householders and Brahmins invited me as a guest, and afterwards they would not look after me. The Thus-Gone One, knowing this, still went there. Those five hundred horses, who offered horse feed to the Thus-Gone One and the great Sangha of monks for three months, all of them, because they were practitioners of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, were influenced by evil friends, committed evil deeds, and were therefore born into the animal realm. However, among those five hundred horses, there was a clever horse named Bodhisattva Sun-Essence, who, due to past vows, was intentionally born there in order to fully ripen those horses. Through the power of that clever horse, all five hundred horses remembered their past lives and aroused the mind of enlightenment. The Tathagata also went there to embrace them. When those five hundred horses gradually died, they were able to be equal to the gods of Tushita Heaven, and were born as gods. After becoming gods, they again made offerings to the Tathagata, heard the Dharma, and ultimately were certain to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The horseman of those horses was also prophesied to become a Pratyekabuddha. In order to tame the elephant, and in order to tame sentient beings, the Blessed One went to the city. The Sage, the Blessed One, was not ignorant. Devadatta throwing stones was also for the benefit of sentient beings, showing the great nature of liberation from the harm of others. When the huge stone that five hundred people relied on was thrown, the Yaksha Kimpira saw it and endured it with his own body. Gods and Asuras, and hundreds and thousands of others, obtained the first fruit and so on, and will be liberated from Samsara. If Devadatta were to stay at home, he would have the power of a Chakravartin.
