After saying those words, the king entered the ground. In order to benefit the Brahmin of False Sovereignty, everyone will surely sprinkle water on the ground during sacrifices. This will happen. Therefore, killing during sacrifices will produce unpleasant results. If killing is intentional, it will produce suffering like others. After resolving to kill, because there is the suffering of killing, it is the suffering of killing. Producing that is the cause, it is the cause of producing the suffering of killing. For example, just as fighting and killing with swords on the battlefield produce unpleasant results, so does killing during sacrifices. Again, why is it considered to have unpleasant results? The answer is: whatever actions are done, such results are seen on the body. Even if the author is not seen in that way, because it is killing, it is like others. For whomever the suffering of separation from life has become suffering in this body, just like that, even if it is done in sacrifice, it will be obtained from the accumulation of non-virtuous karma that is fully matured, and from it will arise a fruit of the nature of suffering of separation from life that is the same as that, and it will be manifested and proven in hundreds and thousands of others, such as cutting off the life of Brahmins and killing, etc. Here, the branch of the Righteous Life Sage (Sanskrit: Ṛṣi; Roman transliteration: Rishi; Chinese: Immortal) said: In the past, the world with both, everything dwelt in non-harm. Therefore, because it gathers in meaning, it kills animals. The Dharma-possessing Edha (Sanskrit: Edha; Roman transliteration: Edha; Chinese: Firewood) was made, and the previous Vedas were abandoned, and for the sake of material meaning, the Vedas were also established from outside the class. In order to enter the world, it is not pervasive and does not have reason, because it likes household things, it has become the freedom of greed and desire. Because they cannot meditate, they abandon the rituals of living in solitude. Some of them are asceticism, and some rely on fire. Others start sacrifices, and they also sacrifice and urge others. The sinful fools desire results, slander the learned, rely on the greedy fools, karma.

Considering it as evil Dharma and engaging in those actions. That king, I do not desire. From Brahma to hell, if one cherishes the lives of all beings, yet others cut them off, how can one attain happiness? All beings desire happiness, and the world is full of suffering. If one inflicts much harm on anyone, how can that become a source of happiness? Thus it is said. It also explains drinking intoxicants, etc. One should abandon them as taught, therefore one should not indulge in intoxicants. Because they cause intoxication, like drunkenness, etc. Drinking alcohol in sacrifices also produces undesirable results, because it is the cause of intoxication, just as ignorant people enjoy drunkenness. Therefore, whether in sacrifices or in any other situation, one should not indulge in intoxicants, because they are the cause of producing intoxication, like Datura flowers or Agati flowers, etc. If someone says that intoxicants that have been blessed with mantras are faultless during sacrifices: 'The intoxicant held by mantras in sacrifice, is not without fault, because it intoxicates like other things, like seeing by mantras.' Intoxicants blessed with mantras at the time of sacrifice are also not without fault, because their power to intoxicate has not disappeared. If it has no smell, taste, and does not intoxicate, then no one would want to drink it. It is precisely because of attachment to smell and taste that people drink it. Therefore, those who enjoy drinking alcohol, etc., chanting mantras and drinking intoxicants, are also at fault, because their intoxicating nature has not disappeared. Furthermore, some say: 'Without the Vedas, one cannot understand what was not there before, etc., without seeing the signs.' To this, it is said here: 'Signs are not seen, if you say heaven, etc. are uncertain, then from the sign, inference, is it not certain because of certainty?' Here, some believe that one must accept those things that have a definite connection with signs, such as form, sound, smell, etc.
