If the support does not exist, then what will be relied upon? One should think in this way. Because it is without substance. The absence of self cannot become self, just like the nature of non-things. The substance of no-self cannot be the self of self, just like the nature of non-existence such as sky flowers. It is impossible for children and others to be without distinction, because there is no support and no analogy. If the self is one, then many faults will arise. What is said is that children, wise men, Chandalas, Brahmins, etc. are all equal. If the ultimate self is not established, then what is the support for the lack of distinction between children and others? Apart from the constant, pervasive, and unique homogeneous things, there is no other meaning, so there is no analogy, so the lack of distinction between children and others is not established. One should think in this way. If the self is only one, then it will have many faults. What are those faults? "The self of Chaitra does the work of Maitreya, and the self of Maitreya is also the same, because Chaitra is not a different thing, or because there is no difference in the object." The self existing inside Chaitra's body sees from the eyes and other things existing in his own body, but not from those existing in other bodies. This is the view of the heretics. Because the self is unique, just as Chaitra sees from his own actions, Maitreya should also see from his actions. Why? Because the nature is not different, because there is no difference in form. Because there is no action in the realm of self, the self of Chaitra also exists in the direction of the realm of the self of Maitreya. Just as he sees from his own actions, he should also see from the actions of others. If it is impossible to see in this way, then these are not one. "Furthermore, happiness and suffering, action, and his liberation is also liberation, his bondage is also bondage, his suffering also becomes suffering." Because the self is unique, when the self of Chaitra is happy, the self of Maitreya should also be happy,

When the self of Caitra is liberated, the self of Maitra will also be liberated. When the self of Maitra is bound, the self of Caitra will also be bound. When the self of Caitra suffers, the self of Maitra will also suffer. If I were to posit a self that is the basis of arising and so on, and is undifferentiated from children and so on, and is one and the same, there would be no harm. If someone asks, "How can I illustrate this with the example of the space in a pot, which is known to both sides?" To that, one should reply: The space in a pot is an example, For all, it is the cause of arising. It is not the cause of happiness and suffering, this is the final conclusion. How is it understood? Because space is inherently one, Your view is not established. The example of space is completely unestablished. Because, That which is empty in terms of the nature of substance, That is conventional space. In it, those with movement can move, In it, those who desire opportunity can obtain opportunity. Following the view of the Sutra school, space is merely the absence of tangible objects with obstruction. Therefore, one self is conventionally accepted. Because it is neither a substance nor permanent. Therefore, those with movement can engage in activities such as going and coming in it. Similarly, those who desire opportunity can also obtain opportunity in it. Therefore, it is called space. Furthermore, the meaning of this sutra is: the reality of tangible objects with obstruction, such as mountains and trees, is not called space. But any place where there is no reality of tangible objects with obstruction is called space, it is merely the absence of substance. There is not even a tiny bit of reality in it. Because it is dependent on the absence of substance, and precisely because it is dependent, it is uncertain like short and long, therefore it is impermanent. Therefore, it exists as a designation. Therefore, space is the nature of non-existence, therefore, it itself exists and is the basis for the existence and abiding of things. Other than that, there is no other nature that is dependent. If this...
