That is the assembly of destruction. Among them, what is manifest attachment? It is the view of the assembly of destruction, which is to grasp the five aggregates of close grasping as self and what belongs to self. This is far from the realm of the minds of animals such as cows, which have been tainted by the habit of grasping at self since beginningless time. For those who do not understand this way, it is not the practice of the path of peace. Moreover, how can those who have the ability to think and express themselves, who have many conceptualizations of self-view, who express them in words, and who cause others to become attached, achieve peace? Therefore, this is not reasonable. Why? Because it is the root of all afflictions. Because it is defiled by pride in self, ignorance of self, view of self, attachment to self, etc., and from this comes the view of the assembly of destruction. If you increase it greatly, how can there be liberation from it? Clinging to the view of the assembly of destruction, The grasping of self and the grasping of what belongs to self, From where does samsara arise, They say that is liberation. I am form, I possess form, form is mine, I exist in form. I am feeling, I possess feeling, feeling is mine, I exist in feeling, etc. By destroying these twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the assembly of destruction, one will see Suchness, as said by the All-Knowing One. You, whose mind is deranged by the demon of grasping at self and what belongs to self, and who have a reversed view, say that what causes the manifest increase of samsara is the cause of liberation. This is like adding more firewood to extinguish a blazing fire. Here, someone objects: Whatever is not the cause of peace can also become the cause of peace in some way. For example, for someone who is drunk from drinking too much alcohol, continuing to drink alcohol can be beneficial. Similarly, those who are unskilled in means will generate all afflictions by clinging to self-view. While the path of yoga...

If it is said that afflictions can be pacified by becoming accustomed to the view of self, then it should be said that just as a drunkard becomes more confused by drunkenness, if afflictions can be pacified by that view, then eating food would be beneficial for someone with a severe indigestion disease. It is not certain that something that is harmed by something can be pacified by that thing itself. If it were certain, then eating food would also be beneficial for someone with a severe indigestion disease. If it is said that poison can also cure poison, then it is also uncertain that poison can pacify poison, but it is certain when combined with jewels, mantras, and medicines, etc. Similarly, it is good to become accustomed to the path, but not through clinging to self. Furthermore, the Vedic scholars believe that the self is of two types: the bound self called the body and the liberated self that dwells in the supreme. Clinging to the supreme is the object of the self, and my thought is not as it is. Because of clinging to the supreme, "I am this," just like having the thought of self for the body. Being in the supreme place, therefore, is being in the supreme place. What is it? It is the self. Where the object exists, that is its object, what is it? It is thought. It should be proven that it is not as it is. Why? Because the clinging, "I am like this," arises. Like what? Like having the thought of self for the body, senses, and objects. The thought of body and object will arise correctly as it is in conventional truth, because it is the object that is closely perceived by direct perception. But it is not the same for the one who dwells in the supreme, because it is not a closely perceived object. If it is said again that due to the power of the habitual clinging to self for a long time, one thinks of this as self, then, because "complete discrimination" does not establish any meaning, therefore it is said: Even if it exists through complete discrimination, what can you do with the self? It is unreasonable to think of form, sound, etc., as objects. Why? Even if the lord of all bodies is completely discriminated, the thoughts of form, etc., even without the agent self,
