If someone without intelligence were to be associated with the great universal being, then, because one's own nature exists, the "I" is not associated with the great universal being, just as a pot that is already made does not need to be made again. If it does not exist, then it is also not associated with the great universal being, because it is non-existent, like the son of a barren woman. If it is said that the existence of the "I" itself is illuminated by the great universal being, but it does not produce the nature of existence, then, because the illuminator is another dharma, how is that an illuminator? Your "I" is not manifest; if it is unconditioned, then how is it illuminated by the great universal being? Here, it can also be said that what is not manifest cannot be illuminated, because it is not manifest. For example, like a flower in the sky. What is manifest becomes manifest once the conditions are found, for example, a lump of clay, a stick, a wheel, and the potter's intention, etc., from the collection of conditions, the pot that is manifestly formed is like being illuminated by a lamp, because manifestness is seen in what is conditioned, therefore, manifestness is established in dissimilar dharmas. The great universal being is not what illuminates the "I". The connection with numbers, etc., is also answered by this. As has been said, through this order of examination, the combination of numbers such as one, etc., and the person (Purusha) is difficult to establish. How so? Is it combined with the existing "one"? Or is it combined with the non-existent? If the existing "one" is combined with the numerical "one", then the combination will become meaningless again. If it is non-existent, then it is non-existent in this way, it is not combined with the manifestor, because it is permanent. Not only is the great universal being not combined with numbers, but for the remaining collections of word meanings, one should also answer according to their respective reasons, using this method; this is the remainder of the words. What are the word meanings? Like this, substance, गुण (guna, गुण, quality), कर्म (karma, कर्म, action), सामान्य (samanya, सामान्य, generality), समवाय (samavaya, समवाय, inherence), విశేష (vishesha, विशेष, particularity), etc., all exist.

Would an existing thing be related to a large existence? Or would it become a non-existent thing? If it is said to be an existing thing, then that combination would also become meaningless. If it is said to be a non-existent thing, then because it is non-existent, it is immediately impossible to answer. Quoting someone else's thoughts: If related to universals, etc., then the individual can be understood as the same as the universal. If it is thought that the individual arises merely because of encountering those factors, then merely because the individual is related to the universal, it is understood as the universal, and because it is related to numbers, it is unique, and because it is related to wisdom, it is understanding, and so on. Merely the cause of the arising of wisdom is the individual. You clearly want to manifest this as the meaning of the correct term. At the time of liberation: neither existent nor non-existent, not many. Not one, not small, not large. This is neither permanent nor impermanent. Neither other nor non-other, not that itself. Just like self, the meaning of words is also like that. Furthermore, things proceed in this way: even if it is spoken with effort, it is clarified by the one who eats fragments. If wisdom, etc., are true attributes of self, then existence, etc., would become permanent, then for that which does not possess the attributes of self, existence and non-existence, one and many, small and large, permanent and impermanent, etc., are all peaceful in the ultimate sense. Not only self, but also the meanings of words such as substance, attribute, action, etc., are the same: neither existent nor non-existent, neither permanent nor impermanent, and so on. How is it? If these are related to self, then they would be established by their own characteristics. If separated from self, then for that which cannot grasp its own essence, how could existence and non-existence, one and many, permanent and impermanent, etc., exist? Although spoken and hidden with effort, the intention of the one who eats fragments is spoken in this way, which follows our school and very clearly shows emptiness. In our scriptures, it appears like this: Form is neither permanent nor impermanent, neither happiness nor suffering, neither self.
