Nor can it exhaust sins by this, because speaking in other languages is like the languages of barbarians, etc., can it be said like that? Whatever Mahayana Dharani mantras, etc., are considered to be merely combined letters, let it be said to these people. In short, Dharani mantra is the way of practice itself, as it is said in the 'Dharani for Accomplishing Limitless Doors': The Bodhisattva who practices this Dharani does not realize conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, nor does he divide, nor does he abide, nor does he cling, nor does he apply terms, he only practices mindfulness of the Buddha. And so on. Also, the 'Commentary on the Essence of Madhyamaka, Blaze of Reasoning', Volume Sixteen, similarly in the 'Sutra Requested by the Dragon King Sagara', it is also said: Dragon King, all teachings are inexhaustible, this is the Dharani called 'Inexhaustible Food Box'. The four individual correct knowledges, wisdom, prajna, and fearlessness also follow inexhaustibly, and similarly, the extremely difficult to understand, the unquenchable fire of diligence, the endless, the invisible, the without reliance, the without curse, the four without fear, and the four treasures of essence, determination, appearance, and power arise. Similarly, whatever the rules of letters, names, symbols, and those that follow the symbols of Dharma, all of these are also known by the Bodhisattva who has entered into this Dharani of the Inexhaustible Food Box. This is a god, all dharmas are pure from the beginning. And so on. Similarly, the Bodhisattva who abides in this Dharani mantra seeks Bodhi only from letters, and follows it. Letters are power. Laughter is the body. The head that enters the door of Dharma, looking is separating. Wisdom is the eye. And so on, therefore the root of practice is wisdom, because there is wisdom, there will be no ignorance. If there is no root, greed and hatred will not arise, because there is opposition to the root. Therefore, in opposition to the root
