Like the earth, and as it is said that the merit of holding the name of the noble Avalokiteśvara is equal, and also in the Sutra of the Heap of Jewels, the excellence of the Bodhisattva is praised by the example of the waxing and waning moon, this is also because it arises and gives from there, because it is the other shore, because it becomes the first virtuous friend by generating the mind of enlightenment, and it is taught by considering that the seed of enlightenment arises thoroughly. The aspirations of the Treasury of Space and so on are not just words, but for seeing the fruit. Why is it not seen now? Because for the continuum that is poor in the roots of virtue, even if there is fruit, it will decay in the middle, or it will be seen upside down. Like seeing the Ganges dry up, or seeing pus, or seeing flames burning. For example, hundreds of thousands of hungry ghosts live on the banks of the Ganges, and because they themselves have no merit, they see the Ganges completely dry up, or see pus, or see flames burning. Similarly, even if the rain of wealth that arises completely from the aspirations of the Bodhisattva is poured down, it will not fall on the realms of sentient beings who have not accumulated roots of virtue, but will fall as the nature of hail and so on that disappears in the sky itself. For example, even if the sun that radiates a thousand rays rises in the middle of the sky that is devoid of clouds, the blind person will not be able to see even a single ray due to the power of past karma. Similarly, even if a heap of jewels falls from the middle of the sky, a person with little merit will not be able to enjoy even a little of it due to the faults of past karma. If wealth and decline are transformed by one's own power, then the aspirations of the Bodhisattva would become powerless. Giving benefit to others arises from aggregation, therefore it is not powerless. For example, sprouts arise from the aggregation of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, and even if one condition is missing, it will not arise.

May it be so. Likewise, giving, abandoning miserliness, cultivating contentment, equanimity, perfecting generosity towards desires, not expecting reciprocation, not generating desire for results, and with generosity shared with all sentient beings, it fully grasps and clearly manifests the ripening of fruits, such as the falling of rain of wealth, which can be obtained. If any of these conditions are not met, it will not occur. Therefore, aspirations such as those of Akashagarbha are solely those with results. Shakyamuni should also be considered an emanation, as he arose from the Sambhogakaya, which relies on the Dharmakaya dwelling in Akanishta. If the Dharmakaya and Sambhogakaya are without conceptualization, how can an emanation body arise? If it is not so, it should be said that this is the aspiration made by the Bhagavan when he became a Bodhisattva: 'After I have attained the non-conceptual nature, may I engage in whatever conduct and forms of speech that will tame sentient beings, with such conduct, such attire, and such forms of speech, even without the effort of conceptualization,' by the force of such past aspirations. From the root Tathagata body, to residing in Tushita and so forth, until the manifestation of Nirvana, these become means of benefiting sentient beings. Without an emanation body, one cannot tame those to be tamed by transmigrating, entering, being born, teaching the arts, showing renunciation, dwelling in the company of consorts, going forth, subduing the Maras, manifesting enlightenment, turning the wheel of Dharma, and showing complete Nirvana in hundreds of millions of Jambudvipas. In the scriptures of various schools, there are also accounts of the Buddha's emanations, such as emanating as a hunter to tame a hunter who is attached to inverted views.
