Following inference without contradicting the scriptures, then what is the ultimate object? If you say that following inference will contradict the scriptures, the answer is: How can one follow inference without contradicting the scriptures? It is like meditating on suchness in this way; this is what the wise desire. Approaching the search for knowledge of suchness, entering into peace, emptiness, non-duality, independence from others, and characteristics such as non-objectification, showing that it does not contradict the scriptures and reason, is what is established by "it is suchness," and that is suchness. The reason for meditation has also been stated just before. The scripture here is: Manjushri, if someone sees all dharmas as without inequality, without duality, and without being made into two, this is right view. Manjushri, if someone sees all dharmas as without conception, without various conceptions, and without pervasive conceptions, seeing with the practice of non-seeing, this is right thought. If someone sees all dharmas as unspeakable, and thoroughly understands the equality of speech, this is right speech. If someone sees all dharmas as without action and without agent, this is the end of right action because the agent is not found. If someone sees all dharmas as neither increasing nor decreasing, this is right livelihood because of abiding in the equality of no life. If someone does not beg for all dharmas, does not create, and does not act to subdue others, this is right effort. If someone does not have mindfulness arising because all dharmas are devoid of the path to be remembered, this is right mindfulness. Commentary on the Heart of the Middle Way, Blazing Logic, Volume Fourteen. Manjushri, if someone sees all dharmas naturally abiding in equality, this is right concentration because of not focusing on the distraction of creation. The eightfold noble path should be viewed in this way. Thus, truly seeing the path, it is crossing over, reaching the other shore, reaching level ground, obtaining peace, obtaining fearlessness, being without afflictions, Arhat, Shramana, Brahma.

Such statements are found in the sutra that shows how all dharmas can be entered. Similarly, the Prajnaparamita Sutra also says that one should cultivate detachment, freedom from desire, and the correct view based on cessation, in a way that does not cling to anything. So, should this way of cultivating in a formless manner be said to be another path? It should not be said so. It should be said that this path itself can accomplish it. How so? It is said that it is the antidote to abandoning non-virtuous dharmas such as wrong views, which are contrary to liberation, and cultivating the correct view and so on as they are. As it is said in the Arya Akshayamati Sutra: What is the correct view? The noble one who transcends the world, the noble self, sentient beings, life, nourishment, individuals, persons, measures, permanence, existence, non-existence, virtue, non-virtue, prophecies, samsara, and nirvana, whatever is not instigated by these views, that is the correct view. What is the correct thought? One does not think with the pervasive thoughts of desire, hatred, and ignorance that manifest, but one thinks with the pervasive thoughts instigated by the aggregates of discipline, samadhi, wisdom, liberation, and the wisdom of seeing liberation. That is the correct thought. So it is said. Therefore, in order to completely abandon attachment to grasping at things, one should become accustomed to cultivating the unseen and so on. By doing so, one will realize the true nature of all dharmas in an instant, and the innate, non-inverted nature will completely abandon the continuum of habits and their seeds. The extreme connection with knowable objects is habit. If the knowable does not appear, then on what basis will habits arise? This is the order of the Great Vehicle. How is it shown that this path, as taught, will gradually lead to the attainment of reality through cultivation? Whoever realizes it, that one becomes a Buddha. Other
