The wisdom of having an object and the object itself is also truly established. Because of its establishment, all the dharmas of the path and the dharma of the result, Nirvana, are also truly established, which is taught in brief. Their subtle desires should be examined in their own treatises such as the Great Commentary on the Abhidharma. Such a method is taught by the Bhagavan with wonderful skillful means for the sake of leading those childish beings to the true meaning. How is it? In terms of ultimate truth, they are not substantially existent, nor are they established as entities, not even a particle of a hair's tip divided into a million parts exists. Why is that? Because the atom that initially composes it is also not established. When six are joined together at once, the atom is divided into six parts. When the six are in one direction, the aggregate becomes just a tiny particle. This is according to the reasoning that says: If the atom is not established, how can the eight substances accumulated from it be established? If the eight substances are not established, then the form aggregate created by them is not established. Therefore, it is like an army and a forest seen from a distance. The wisdom that has an object focused on that is also not substantially established. It should be understood that the mind, which is similar by five similarities, and many mental factors gathered together, are not substantially established. How is it known that it is not substantially established? Here, how is it possible for yogis to walk on water that is deep and without boundaries like on land, for forest fires not to burn, for them to make it as cold as hail and ice, for them to make the scattering wind that destroys the tops of rocks unmoving with the tips of their fingers, and for them to go through walls and mountains without obstruction, and so on? Therefore, it should be understood that nothing is substantially established. Here it is said: It is only due to the difference in the yogi's meditation that it changes in that way, but things are not changing and non-substantial. If things were arising and non-substantial, then when the yogi arises from samadhi, it would appear the same way, and all other living beings would not move or shake from their respective places, therefore...

Therefore, only the truly existent is established. Therefore, those samādhis of cessation only appear that way to yogis alone. They do not appear that way to anyone else, because other things do not become space, etc. The fact that yogis make them appear through the power of samādhi and magical abilities is merely due to aspiration. What was said is not so, for example, they walk through walls, mountains, and so on without hindrance, and they also make water solid and walk on it as if it were earth, and they also make fire cool and pacify the fire of sentient beings in hell, and they also hinder the wind, and even the great wind that scatters can be pressed down with the tip of a finger, and they make the large small, and they make the small large, and they make the many few, and they make the few many. They make all the realms of the world fit inside a hair follicle. One does not become small, and one does not become large. At some times, they cause things to appear as others wish, and at some times they show that they alone are unimpeded, and they go unimpeded with begging bowls, Dharma robes, and means of sustenance, and so on. At some times, they only show it to others, such as giving water to pretas and so on. At some times, they show it to both themselves and others, such as pacifying the burning fire of sentient beings in hell and so on. If it were merely aspiration, things would not change, and the suffering of fire would not be pacified, and thirst would not be quenched, and if one thought that way, it would not be so. Even if cessation and so on were truly real, the nature of earth and so on would not be established as existing. Again, some say that earth and so on are aggregates, but as substances they are only existent. For example, even if atoms are broken down, there is still awareness of them, so they are existent as substances. In response to that: Earth and so on are not substantially existent, because they are assembled and aggregated. For example, like an army and a forest. Awareness is also not existent, because earth and so on are objects of awareness. That is also not considered substantially existent, because it has causes and therefore disintegrates. An army
