Those who have joined, and those who say that they attain Nirvana in the visible Dharma, and those who hold water-born garlands, and those who possess the excellent conduct, and those who grind, and those who view the Dharma as pure, and those who view birth as pure, and those who view karma as pure, and those who enter the water to bathe, and those who dwell in the wilderness, and those who view earth, water, fire, wind, and space as having mind, and those who are born from space, and those who have many chariots, and those who delight in meditation, and those who have Dharma, and those who eat cold food, and those who wear shoulder cloths, etc., there are three hundred and sixty-three kinds in total. Regarding the speculations on the past extreme, there are eighteen kinds, and regarding the speculations on the future extreme, it is said there are forty-four kinds, or, regarding the speculations on the past extreme, there are sixteen kinds, and regarding the speculations on the future extreme, there are forty-four kinds, and regarding the speculations on the present extreme, there are two kinds, totaling sixty-two kinds. If according to the former, four are speakers. Four are those who say there is an end and no end. Four are those who are verbally distracted. Two are those who say there is no cause. Among the forty-four, sixteen are those who say there is perception. Eight are those who say there is no perception. Eight are those who say there is neither perception nor non-perception. Five are those who say they attain Nirvana in the visible Dharma. Seven are those who say there is annihilation. These are all delusions, as the teacher Arya Deva said: To mistake existence for non-existence, and to mistake impermanence. To mistake non-existence for existence, and to mistake permanence. Delusion deceives with delusion, and being deceived establishes delusion. By the power of delusion, one is deluded about the true meaning. Deluded from the cause, the result of conditions is deluded in the three lower realms. Thus it is said. Self, substance, and chief, life, sentient being, time, and person, individual, chief, atom, Brahma, Vishnu, great powerful one. Among them, what is called self is what is constantly spoken of in the treatises of Samkhya and Vaisheshika, or, because it is to be examined by all beings, it is called self. And it is also believed that the self is permanent, pervasive, and unique. Among them, what is called substance is the six categories of meaning in the treatises of Vaisheshika, namely, substance, quality, action, generality, particularity, and inherence, these six distinctions. What is called chief is the number
