It is false. Like this, if it is false, it is not true, therefore, the previous teachers said that this is the true conventional truth. Like this, our Madhyamaka treatises consider all internal and external dharmas to be conventional truths, and also false, fabricated, like illusions, like dreams. The venerable Nagarjuna himself said: Whatever is perceived by the senses, if it were truly existent, even a child should be able to know it as it is, what need is there for true wisdom? Therefore, external objects are completely false. Then, what are the internal dharmas like? The Blessed One said: Eyes, ears, and nose are not valid, tongue, body, and mind are also not valid, if these senses were valid, who would need the noble path? The venerable Nagarjuna himself also said: The senses are inanimate objects, unspeakable, and not valid, you say they are inverted knowledge. Therefore, since objects and senses are unreal, consciousness is also unreal. Consciousness that abides on unreal objects and senses is also not established as real. The base is unreal, and mind and mental factors are also not established as real because of the aggregation of many. Merely imputed causes and conditions, produce merely imputed results. If the false unreal result should not arise, who would produce water moons and so on? As long as there are false causes and conditions, the arising and ceasing of illusions exist. The teacher himself said: Here there is no birth, nor is there any cessation, birth and cessation, are merely imputed causes and conditions. The teacher Chandrakirti himself said: In the beginningless and endless samsara, beings who are deluded by the sleep of ignorance, whatever appears to them, is considered false, like a dream. Therefore, internal and external things are established as false. What is the ultimate truth like? This is also what the teacher himself said in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: Whatever arises dependently, without cessation, without birth, without permanence, without

Eda pa. It is not a different meaning, nor is it the same meaning. There is no coming, no going. Pacifying proliferation, proclaiming peace. To the supreme among those who speak of the perfect Buddha, I prostrate. This is what was said. Now, I will explain the meaning of the two truths. The Blessed One said, "Conventional truth is impermanent and changing. Its truth is like a moon in water. Ultimate truth is the eighteen emptinesses." This is his intention. Conventional refers to things as they appear, such as form. It is itself the truth because it is a valid measure for what is seen on this side, and the world's terminology is not inverted. Meaning refers to what should be examined and understood. Supreme is the highest. Or, it is both meaning and supreme, therefore it is ultimate meaning. Or, it is the meaning of the supreme, that is, the meaning of supreme wisdom, therefore it is the meaning of the supreme. Truth is non-deceptive. For sentient beings who are beginners in karma, this method for entering the ultimate meaning is taught by the perfect Buddha as being like a series of steps. Without understanding conventional truth, one will not understand ultimate truth. Having understood conventional truth, one should enter ultimate truth. What is conventional truth like? Whatever is called all phenomena, knowing the characteristics of general and specific, is conventional truth. This conventional reality that appears in this way, if examined with reason, nothing is found. That very non-finding is ultimate. Therefore, conventional reality should be understood. The Blessed One also said that without first understanding conventional phenomena and without realizing them, one cannot realize ultimate phenomena. The venerable teacher Chandrakirti said, "Conventional truth, which is the means, and ultimate truth, which arises from the means, if one does not understand the difference between the two, then one will misunderstand and fall into the lower realms." Thus he said. Furthermore, if one abandons conventional reality and clings to a view of emptiness, that is an incurable wrong view, like a patient abandoned by a doctor. Here, others refute, "You yourselves have accepted the aggregates and other phenomena, and then you deny them, so you are harmed by your own commitments." Similarly, regarding the certainty of each object.
