Those should also be stated. Here, the meaning of the debate is that by stating that the meaning of the reason initially stated by the opponent in the debate is not established, it is shown that suffering is empty of inherent existence. Therefore, it is completely overcome by the power of the greatest. Form is neither happiness nor suffering. Similarly, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also neither happiness nor suffering. Form, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, whatever is happiness or non-suffering, that is the Perfection of Wisdom. Similarly, although Brahma has determined various names, you should understand it like this: suffering, origin, cessation, and path are not the truths of the noble ones, but like this, the non-arising of suffering, origin, cessation, and path is the path of the noble ones. In the Hearer Vehicle, the Blessed One also taught: Hey, Gautama, is suffering made by me? Long-lived one, no. Is it made by others? Long-lived one, no. Is it made by both? Long-lived one, no. Is it made by neither me nor others? Long-lived one, no. And so on, all that was widely proclaimed is established. Composed by the teacher Lekdenjé, the chapter on "Examination of Suffering" from the Commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the Lamp of Wisdom, the twelfth debate, is completed. The tenth volume of the Commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the Lamp of Wisdom. Now, due to answering the refutation, and by the power of autonomous recollection, showing the emptiness of inherent existence from the aspect of formations, the thirteenth debate is begun due to the meaning. "Whatever dharma deceives is false," and so on. Among them, the so-called "false" is because it is the object of inverted consciousness, and it deceives childish beings with aspects such as self. The so-called "deceiving" is because it is the cause of completely deceiving those who have the object of ultimate truth, such as mindfulness. Among them, the so-called "false" is the word to be expressed, and the so-called "deceiving" is the expressing

are the words. The Blessed One said so, from the Sutra Pitaka. The sound of 'so it is' means to indicate closely. How did the Blessed One say in the Sutra Pitaka? In the teachings of the Hearers, it is like this: whatever is compounded is false, it is a deceiving dharma. Monks, like this, the non-deceiving dharma, Nirvana, that is the supreme truth. The compounded is also a deceiving dharma, that is also a dharma of complete destruction. It is also said like that. From the teachings of the Great Vehicle, it is also said, Subhuti, as much as is compounded, so much is false, as much as is not compounded, so much is not false. Therefore, since there are teachings that are famous in both ways like that. All that is compounded is a deceiving dharma. This shows that the compounded dharma is the nature of deception. Then, those are false. It is said because there is no self-nature. That is a concluding word. Here, the connecting words are, in the ultimate sense, the inner things are all emptiness of self-nature, because they are deceiving dharmas. For example, like the body of a woman conjured by a magician. Here some say, like this, the Buddhas speak of three limbs, therefore, connecting and concluding words are not reasonable. That is not good, like this, although connecting and concluding are not considered other limbs, it is not that those should not be connected. Otherwise, for those who have similar examples, sound is impermanent, because it is made. What is made is seen as impermanent, for example, like a pot. Sound is also like that, therefore it is impermanent because it is made. And, similarly, for those who have dissimilar examples, sound is impermanent because it is made. What is not made is seen as permanent, for example, like space. Sound is not like that, not made, but made, therefore, it is impermanent because it is made. How can the meaning of the reason for the proposition be clarified with words of similar meaning like that? For connecting words, those are not needed, because they are meaningless.
