Therefore, if the "is" of something does not exist, then those things also do not exist. It is said that if views, etc., are not themselves existent as substances, then it is difficult to answer the faults such as the meaning of the reason of the grasper itself not being established. Therefore, if we examine with the proof shown as before, whatever is view, etc., does not exist in the past, present, or future, and for it, whether it exists or does not exist, all kinds of discriminations will cease. If the grasper, in the past, present, and future of views, etc., is not established as being substantially existent, and is non-existent like arising matter, then for such a thing, whether it is ultimately one or different, whether it exists or does not exist, all kinds of discriminations will cease. Among them, for the moment, the discrimination that thinks "it exists" will cease, because it is not a substance. The discrimination that arises thinking "it does not exist" is because it does not exist, so it can only be established by relying on the cessation of discrimination. Or, the discrimination that thinks "it exists" will cease, because there is no inference that can prove that it truly exists. The discrimination that thinks "it does not exist" will cease, because by excluding existence, the discrimination that thinks non-existence also does not exist. As the Bhagavan said: By discriminating and observing with wisdom, self-nature is unattainable, therefore, those are unspeakable, and it also shows that self-nature is non-existent. It is like what is said in this way. Among them, those who say that the grasper exists, prove that the grasper exists through inference, they say: because it is grasping, therefore it is the grasper, because it is grasped by him, therefore it is the grasped, because both of these are established, therefore the proponent's position is established, it is unreasonable to say so. Here, the meaning of the discourse is to show that the grasper has no self-nature by stating the refutation of the reason for the existence of the grasper, and by stating the autonomous inference. Therefore, by completely suppressing with excellent wisdom, there is no knower or knower on form. There is no knower or knower on feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. Form and

Feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness, there is no knower or, one who knows, that is, the Perfection of Wisdom. Form has no knower or seer. Feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness have no knower or seer. Form and, feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness have no knower or seer, that is, the Perfection of Wisdom, and so on, all that is said is established. Composed by the teacher Lekdenjé (Śāntarakṣita). From the commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the Lamp of Wisdom, the ninth chapter called "Examination of the Near-Taker and the Near-Taken." Now, in order to refute the differences of the contradictory aspects of the emptiness of inherent existence of the near-taker and the near-taken, which have the distinction of being neither the same nor different in meaning from dependent arising, the tenth chapter is composed by the power of the meaning of the teaching. Here it is said: Here, you have said that the near-taker and the near-taken are perfectly established in dependence on each other. Therefore, by the power of the perfect establishment of reason, in order to establish the near-taker and the near-taken themselves, one should speak of establishment, for in the ultimate sense, the near-taker and the near-taken are only existent, because they are mutually dependent, like fire and wood. Therefore, since that is established, in the ultimate sense, the aggregates and so on are only existent, because the Blessed One, relying on those, taught the near-taker and the near-taken. Thus, since the reason is established, the desired is established. Here it is said: The general negation of birth, and, apart from the cause of form, form cannot become an object. Thus, by negating existence as substance there, the negation of the existence of fire and wood is also established, but again, in order to show that it is non-existent itself, listen to another establishment of the heart. Here, if you think that fire and wood are existent themselves, then should you accept them as being the same itself, or as being other itself, if so, what will happen? If the wood is the fire, then the agent and the action
