Become one. Then, firewood is the three elements of earth and so on, and fire is the fire element. Some say that fire is formed from the four great elements with a larger proportion of fire. In this regard, since there are loopholes in the words here, it is obvious that reasoning is reversed from the proof stated by the other party. For example, if sound is permanent, then the pot should also become permanent, which is undesirable. Because if the made nature itself does not have impermanence, it will not arise, and sound also has made nature. Sound is also made, therefore sound is impermanent, because it is made, like a pot. Here, the combined words are actually that fire and firewood are not one, because they are the agent and the object, like the cutter and the cut. Fire is the agent of burning firewood, and firewood is the object when burning. Fire and firewood also have the agent and the object, so they are not one. Or, if the wood is fire, then the agent and the object will become one. Therefore, for the vow that fire is not different from firewood, it is unreliable to reason with oneness, and because the fire itself burns the flames of fire, there is the fault of abandoning the difference of the subject. If you say that there is no fault because of seeing the harm, then oneness will also be harmed by seeing. Because it is completely abandoned, it contradicts the established sect. Thus, because there is no commitment, there is no harm to the commitment. Thus, temporarily fire and firewood cannot become one. If it is considered another entity, therefore it is said, if fire is different from firewood, then fire will arise without firewood. Because it is another entity, it is thought to be like being different from it. Like this, even wise people who are attached to appearances do not want fire to exist without relying on firewood, which shows the dependent nature of fire and firewood. Therefore, what is to be shown here is that the inference is to be made by the power of the meaning to be expressed: in reality, fire is not different from firewood, because it has dependence, like the self-nature of firewood. Then

Likewise, in the ultimate sense, firewood is also not other than fire, because it is dependent, like the nature of fire itself. If fire and firewood, being different entities, make all dependent things uncertain, then those are also without fault because they are equally refuted by being similar to what needs to be proven. If one accepts fire and firewood as other entities, there is also this other fault: it would always be burning. It arises from a cause without burning. If fire were other than firewood, it would always burn without depending on firewood, and that firewood should not disappear or die, and it would be permanent. Why? Because it arises from a cause without burning. The cause of burning is firewood. Whatever has a continuum arises from the cause of burning. Arising from a cause without burning means arising from the absence of a cause of burning. Furthermore, because death is completely abandoned, putting in dry firewood and the efforts of kindling are also unreasonable. Therefore, effort becomes meaningless. Meaningless is devoid of meaning. Its entity is meaningless, which is synonymous with being without result. If so, then there is no action either. No action means there is no action, because it arises and exists independently of firewood, so there is no action of burning, which is the characteristic of what is to be burned, therefore that is not accepted. Even village women believe that fire has a cause, has effort, and has action, therefore they can state inference, that is: in the ultimate sense, fire is not other than firewood, because it has a cause, has effort, and has action, like the nature of firewood itself, as explained earlier in detail. Similarly, it should also be stated regarding the aspect of firewood, because firewood also has the action of shaping and so on, therefore it is established as having action, so the subject and example of firewood itself are not unestablished. To this, someone might think, why does it arise from a cause without burning, and why is effort meaningless?
