Thus, like the appearance of sounds such as 'pani ba,' like the appearance of water crystal, water, etc., like the appearance of branches, twigs, etc., that is the cause of all sentient beings. Likewise, the person himself, whatever is born and whatever is born from, is the cause of all of this, and so on. Likewise, that is the mover, that is the non-mover, that is the distant, that is the near, that is the intermediate, that is the both, that is the cause of all external objects, and so on. If asked: Here, the cessation should be like the appearance of those who accept the Lord as the cause. Furthermore, it should be said that the self of Devadatta is not the cause of Devadatta's body and senses, because it is the self, like the master of the sacrifice. Also, the agent of the body of the sacrifice and the limbs of the senses is not the master of the sacrifice, because it is the cause of the arising of pleasure, pain, and consciousness, like the body of Devadatta and the collection of senses. Also, the bound self is not the cause of all, because it is the self, like the liberated self. By refuting the own-nature of the dharma, it becomes a fault of one's own proposition. If it is said: The meaning of the reason, because it is the self, is a part of the established meaning, therefore it is not established. The answer has been given, therefore there is no fault. If someone says like this: Our self is only one, like the space of a pot, etc., which is designated as different entities, thus it is designated as multiple entities, therefore there is no fault of example, and it does not become a fault of the proposition. This is not good, because space is unborn, like a flower of space, because it is only the nature of non-things, therefore the establishment as one is only words, and also in name, there is no inference that shows the universally accepted self as one. If it is said: The bound self is not different from the liberated self, because it is the self, like the liberated self. In the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates, the liberated self exists, and because oneness is not established, as said before,

It will not be without fault. Detailed examination will become a skillful means of self-examination. Those who consider nature to be the cause acknowledge that the manifestations of Brahma and others up to the sprout are caused by nature. They say: The cause of internal differences is definitely pleasure, pain, and ignorance. Because they are associated with them, just as anything in the world is associated with anything, it is considered to be its cause. For example, sandalwood shavings, tiles, containers, and ornaments, etc. Similarly, internal differences are also associated with pleasure, pain, and ignorance, therefore, as the reason mentioned earlier, the cause of internal differences is pleasure, pain, and ignorance. The aggregates of form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness should also be considered to be the nature of pleasure, pain, and ignorance, because they are aggregates, like the aggregate of feeling, therefore the meaning of the reason is not unestablished. To this, here sandalwood etc. are not established in the ultimate sense, so there is no example. In the mundane, ignorance belongs to the aggregate of formation, so the example is not established. Dharmas that are not knowledgeable other than pleasure and pain are definitely not the nature of pleasure and pain, because they are measurable, like knowledge, therefore, that is also not established by inference. Because the example is taken only from universally established knowledge, it is also not without example. The chief is not the sole cause of the great and so on, because it is not obvious, like a person, so it harms the inference of those who consider nature to be the cause. If the meaning of the reason "because it is not obvious" refers to the state before manifestation, then it will become the fault that the example does not possess the property to be established. If it refers to knowledge itself, then the meaning of the reason is not established. That is not good, because the reason is stated universally, or even if it is stated separately, it is because it concludes as one.
