It is one's own self-nature. The term "conditions, etc." refers to semen and blood, etc. The use of the word "etc." also includes other things such as aggregates and independence. The term "does not exist" is a negation. Since it does not exist, whose otherness do those conditions become? Even if it exists, it will not arise from it, because the harm of subsequent inference has already been stated, so it will not harm it. Some people think that the meaning to be proven is not true, but is based on speculation, and we do not necessarily think that things only arise from other things. Some people think that those arising only arise from other things, and not from themselves, so even if other things exist in non-conditions, they will not arise. If someone says that if this statement is devoted to denying arising from oneself, then it is fulfilling the wish. However, if it is devoted to showing that unarisen things arise from other things, then, in that case, it will also become the fault of arguing and examining the same. That is also not right. If it is said that there is only no arising from other things, then this is establishing an example. In that case, it has said that eyes, etc. do not exist in conditions such as semen and blood, etc., and that the conditions of eyes, etc. are also empty of these dharmas. One's own things do not exist, and other people's things do not exist either. In conditions, etc., one's own things do not exist. Other people's things arise from other things. Arising is birth, and it does not exist in conditions. This shows the meaning to be proven. Thus, here too, as before, because the example is manifest, from the aspect of the result and the condition, it will become two combined words. Ultimately, eyes, etc. do not arise from conditions such as semen and blood, etc., because they do not exist in them, like a pot. Similarly, ultimately, the conditions of semen and blood, etc. do not cause the arising of eyes, etc., because they are empty of these, like a spindle, etc. Therefore, the Blessed One said that ultimately things are vast.

It should be known that, as it is said, there is no arising from the four conditions such as cause. Because of those beings whose wisdom is disturbed by those who speak of no cause and of causes that are not in accordance, in order to follow with compassion, and in order to show how the truth of convention abides, and in order to proclaim the cause, object, immediately preceding condition, and dominant condition, it should be known that there is no harm to the promise. Or, examine it in another way, and for the sake of those who show that things arise from elsewhere, this should also be examined. Here, the four conditions are: cause and object, as well as the immediately preceding condition, and the dominant condition is also the same. As it is said, those who think that these are what produce things, and what is completely examined by other schools, and what is completely examined by the Vaisheshika school and others, whatever those with different names are, they are also included in those by their nature, therefore, the fifth condition does not exist, it should be determined to say so. In ultimate truth, it is unreasonable for those to be only otherness. If asked: How is it? Therefore it is said: The nature of things, cause and so on, does not exist. The meaning of things refers to: the internal, the small, and the coarse ones. The meaning of nature refers to: one's own essence. The meaning of cause and so on refers to: temporarily to the individual causes and those of the collection. The word "and so on" refers to: cause and co-emergent cause, common and uncommon collections, and others as well. The meaning of "does not exist" is: it is a synonym for "does not exist." When and how? Before arising, in convention and ultimate truth. If my thing does not exist, then the thing of others does not exist. The meaning is: if it is thought that my thing will arise, then it itself does not exist, how can the thing of others become otherness and exist for the conditions? Therefore, only otherness does not exist, because there is no reason for otherness. If the idea that things will arise is placed in the mind, then those conditions have become other, or if a name is established because of dependence, or because of having otherness, then that is only a name.
