Therefore, they say that earth and so on are the only things that exist. Here it says: If there is a cause of form other than form, it will become a cause without result, and a cause without result does not exist. As for our side, if there is a cause of form other than form, such as earth and so on, then it will become a cause without result. Because the result, the nature of form and so on, will become a cause without result. Because it is different, like resin and so on. A cause without result does not exist, which means that it is also because it is the nature of the aggregation of form and so on. Therefore, just like the cause, the result is not established either, because those results exist, so the meaning of the reason stated earlier has the fault of not being established. If it is said to be a generally accepted reason, then it is a contradiction in meaning. There are other refutations, if one examines the cause of form, is it examining whether form exists or does not exist? It is explained that neither is reasonable. Even if form exists, the cause of form will not be reasonably established. Because it exists, like the existence of a vase and cloth. If it does not exist, even if form does not exist, the cause of form will not be reasonably established. The desired earth and so on, because it does not exist before it arises, so it is like other reasons. Here, by repeatedly showing the debate of non-arising, it should be known that the refutation is stated. Those who say there is no cause say that no cause is the only thing. For those people, it is said: Form and so on without cause are unreasonable, not unreasonable. It means that because it is not accepted even in the mundane. Or, the Vaibhashikas say that future form also exists, for those people it is said: Form and so on without cause are unreasonable, not unreasonable. It means that because those things that have not accepted the cause of future arising, have not obtained the thing, so it is not established to exist even in name. Because that is how it arises, and the form of the nature that has changed from arising

Therefore, all forms are unreasonable. Therefore, regarding the distinctions of the forms of color, one should not make any distinctions. The wise, regarding the true distinctions of the Dharma, and those who wish to understand separation from perfection, with the eye of correct wisdom, correctly observing, regarding color existing as substance, and different from cause, and not different from cause, and those such as the distinctions of color and shape, etc., regarding the many distinctions of objects, like in the dream of a childless woman, regarding the pure objects of the appearance and behavior of a son, etc., like waking up from a dream, one should not make distinctions. Therefore, like this, the cause of color is unreasonable, therefore it has not escaped the faults as spoken. The Commentary on the Root Verses of the Middle Way, The Lamp of Wisdom, Volume Five. Furthermore, here, for those who say that the effect is similar to the cause, it is explained that the qualities of the cause exist previously, and gradually the qualities are also seen in the effect. The statement that the effect is similar to the cause is unreasonable. The demonstration that the effect is similar to the cause is unreasonable, because the cause itself is not the effect, that is its definition. Here, the dharma to be proven is the cause that is spoken of, the cause itself is not the cause, and the demonstration of the similar dharma to be proven is placed nearby. For example, that depends on, being a substance of different lineage. Here, the combined words are, the cause that wants to speak of ultimate truth, the blue cause is not the cause of the blue lotus, because of similarity, like a blue lotus different from it. Here the Samkhyas say that for the blue lotus different from it, also because the cause of the blue lotus that wants to be spoken of is not established, therefore there is no example. That is not good, because now the cause of its arising has been established as non-substantial, therefore it is considered to be the example itself, and this negation only by means of negating the meaning expressed in conjunction with which sound, the power is almost exhausted, because there it does not show its difference, just like saying it is not a Brahmin, so there is no fault. One's own school also says that the effect is similar and dissimilar to the cause, relying on the previous moment being similar in nature and the later moment arising, like ghee.
