Yes. Here, the subsequent inference is not that form is substantially existent in the ultimate sense, because if one does not grasp its own cause, there is no consciousness of it. Here, whatever does not grasp its own cause, there is no consciousness of it, is not substantially existent, like an army and so on. Similarly, if form does not grasp its own causes and so on, because there is no consciousness of form, it is not substantially existent. Alternatively, there is another way of reasoning: in the ultimate sense, the consciousness of form is not an object of substantially existent things, because it is consciousness, like the consciousness of a forest and so on. Alternatively, there is another way of reasoning: in the ultimate sense, the sound called "form" is not an object of the meaning of words that is substantially existent, because it is sound, like the sound of an army and so on. Consciousness and mental factors and so on should also be established, and in the same way, they should also be refuted in the same way, therefore, it is not an uncertain reason. If form is existent in the ultimate sense, because it is destroyed, its consciousness will not be destroyed. Here, whatever whose consciousness is destroyed is conventionally existent, like a pot. If it is said that although blue form and so on are destroyed, their consciousness does not perish in that way, therefore form is substantially existent. That is not good, because there is no following establishment. Thus, for the time being, the form produced by cause has been analyzed. Now, the form that arises will be explained. The form produced by cause is only existent, because it has its cause. Here, whatever is non-existent has no cause to grasp, like a flower in the sky. The form produced by cause has causes such as earth, therefore, the form produced by cause is only existent, if it is said so. Therefore, it is said: Apart from form, the cause of form is also not visible. Here, the characteristic of the form produced by cause, apart from form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, the causes of form, such as earth, etc., are also not visible and cannot be grasped. Here too, what is to be established for the arising form is merely the aggregation of form and so on, and sound.

If the destructible form, etc., do not appear, then those such as earth also do not appear, thus it is shown. Therefore, by that reason, the metaphor also appears. Here, for the time being, taking earth as the subject, let us construct a connecting statement. Even just the aggregation does not actually show. Here, the author only shows the aggregation, only showing the refutation of existence as an entity, because those are important. If asked, how is that important? Just like this, whatever is established based on convention, because it is not actually existent as an entity, therefore there is no birth, thus the absence of inherent existence is established. In the Holy Lankavatara Sutra, it says: Because apart from aggregation, consciousness cannot grasp things, therefore I speak of emptiness, unborn, and absence of inherent existence. Regarding this, there is not even a little arising or cessation due to conditions, arising and cessation are only conditions. Like what is said in this way. Here, the connecting statement is: Know that actually earth is not existent as an entity, because its cause does not appear, therefore it does not appear. Whatever cause does not appear, it does not appear, that is actually not existent as an entity, for example, an army, etc. Similarly, for the aspects of consciousness and sound, one should also state appropriately. Or, apart from those such as the cause of form, there is no form that can be designated as different from those, if one's own cause is not grasped, then it cannot be grasped, this is the nature of form. Here, the connecting statement is: Actually, form is not different from the parts of its own collection, because if it is not grasped, there is no consciousness of it. For example, like the own nature of earth, etc. Here, because it is thought to be abiding in action, not grasping is the nature of consciousness. Therefore, the meaning of the reason is not unestablished. The Samkhyas say: Earth, etc., are not different from form, etc., so this is an argument for something already established. That is not good, because by negating otherness, it cannot show non-otherness, and also the non-otherness desired by the opponent is not promised. The Vaisheshikas say the reason is uncertain.
