Because of the vow made, because it is one aspect of meaning, and because there is no difference in effort, and because of holding without difference in time, these are also not established. Even if the argument is established, the pervasion is not established, because in the ultimate truth, the mind itself is not holding without contact. Or, it is also contradictory in itself. If the Samkhyas say that the eye does not hold without contacting the object, then this is actually proving what is already proven. If they say so, since it has been shown that the dharma of the eye holding without contacting the object is emptiness, it has not been shown in the way of establishing that it holds by contacting the object, therefore it should be said that this is breathing in a non-place. Furthermore, we do not think that the eye holds by contacting the object, because it is an organ, like the mind. The uncertainty of the nose and so on is also not established, because they will also be shown below to be the same as this. Then, what is the meaning of "contacting and holding"? If it is said that it goes from the location to the direction of the object and then holds, then, in the ultimate truth, the function of the eye does not move outward from the place of the consciousness of the eye, because it is a function, like the function of the nose and other organs. Similarly, in the ultimate truth, form is not the object taken by the eye organ contacting and holding the object, because it is conditioned, like sound and so on. If it is said that in the subsequent inference that has been shown in both aspects, because one aspect surpasses the other, it is not established in either aspect, then, because there are no two, it is established that what is to be established is not established. To those who think that the rays of the eye go towards the direction of the object, thereby holding the object, it should also be said that even in name, it should be known that the eye organ is not with rays, because it is the cause of perceiving form, like form. If it is said that the eye organ is only with rays, because it is the eye organ, like the eyes of bats and other nocturnal animals, then this is not reasonable, because the eye organ is invisible, and its place is rays.

Even if it is already determined, it is because the example is not established, and there is harm that does not have contradictory errors. The analysis is enough, and the situation itself should be in charge. When seeing one's own nature, one does not see oneself. When one does not see oneself, how can one see others? Some say that if the essence of things is seen in one's own nature, then being associated with it will also point to the nature of others. For example, if moisture is seen in water, being associated with it will also point to the earth; if heat is seen in fire, being associated with it will also point to water; if fragrance is seen in a jasmine flower, being associated with it will also point to clothes. If something does not appear in its own nature, how can it point to the nature of others? For example, if a bad smell is not seen in a jasmine flower, it will not point to clothes either. Therefore, if seeing sees its own nature, then it would be reasonable to say "seeing because of seeing form." However, seeing does not see its own nature. If one does not see one's own nature, how can one see others? Therefore, it is unreasonable to say "seeing because of seeing form." Master Aryadeva also said, "If the self-nature of all things first appears to oneself, why does the eye not grasp itself?" That's what they say. To this, our own school says, if seeing focuses on form, and it is said that it does not exist in the eye, then it also does not exist in form, which is proving what is already established. It is also said in the scriptures, "It is not in the eye and form, and it is not even if both are absent. Where there is transformation, it is neither existent nor non-existent." Some say that if there is no ability to see one's own nature, then the example of the jasmine flower is not appropriate, because the jasmine flower produces fragrance due to aggregation, just as sesame oil becomes fragrant after coming into contact with the flower. No one admits that there is an act of seeing form, so refuting it is also unreasonable.
