The statement that "it is for the sake of designation" is not established, because the meaning of the reason is not established. The example is also not established, because Devadatta is not established in the ultimate sense. If it is said that the act of walking is not completely present in what is called "step," like this, it is because we express it with the word walking, therefore it exists, and the meaning of the reason is not unestablished. Here it is said: In whatever step there is walking, In that step there is no walking, It becomes a fault, for what reason? Because the step is for the sake of understanding. What is said is that in whatever step there is walking, in that aspect, there is walking in walking, but there is no walking in the step, it becomes a fault. Why? Because what is called "step" does not completely possess the act of walking, it does not enter, but it is for the sake of understanding and knowing. That is not allowed, because what is called "step" is considered to have walking, therefore, the act of walking has already accomplished the meaning for it, so other walking is unreasonable, therefore the fault as stated cannot be avoided. If one wants to completely avoid the danger of the fault as stated, and considers that the step has walking, and walking itself is walking, then, even so, If there is walking in the step, then it becomes a fault of two walkings, With what step is that, And what is the walking in that? If one thinks that there is walking in the step that has ultimate walking, then it becomes a fault of two walkings, that is, what walking made that step become what is called a step, and what walking made that step have conventional walking. In that case, if it becomes a fault of two walkings, then the walker will also become two. Why? Because without a walker, walking is not reasonable. This is the remainder of the sentence. That is also not allowed. Therefore, in order to definitely eliminate the stain of the fault as stated, only one conventional walking is admitted, and relying on it, the walker and the step have been established, but the ultimate walking is also unreasonable, therefore, in order to designate the conventions related to those objects, this is called the meaning of the reason not being established.

Also because, and because there is no example, the statement that internal things are only born cannot be established, and it is established that they have the characteristics of interdependent arising, without coming and without going. The Sound Observers declare that going is only one. They say that it is only our own self-nature that goes. Wherever that basis exists, that is the going. Whoever is the goer, that is the doer. Therefore, it will not be the case that the goer and the going are two. That is not reasonable, because in reality the birth of going is prevented, because there is no going, there is no going, because the collection of aggregates is called the goer when it arises elsewhere, and the going has also been examined. Commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, Lamp of Wisdom, Volume Three. Others say that it should only be understood that going exists, because its basis exists. Here, whatever has no basis does not exist, like the fall of a barren woman's son and going, etc. The basis of going, the goer, is obviously present, so because the basis exists in this way, going exists, and because the reason is established, the internal sources are only born, and going and coming, etc., are also established, they say. Here it is said, if the goer does not exist, then going is not reasonable, if going does not exist, then how can the goer exist? If there is no statement of reason, going will not be established, so thinking that there will be no fault as mentioned above, if the goer does not exist, then going does not exist, because the basis of going depends on the goer, so the reason is that the basis exists, if you say so, then, if the goer does not exist, then going is not reasonable, is it not? Going is also unreasonable, this has been examined. Therefore, if going does not exist, then how can the goer exist? It means that the goer himself has no cause. The word "how can" is disbelief, it means the sentence that the goer does not exist. In detail, it is the same as before. Because the goer is not established, so it is said that because the basis exists.
