To rely without perversion on what should be known, what should be abandoned, what should be realized, and what should be cultivated, is called the words of the Bhagavan. The term 'profound' refers to the meaning that is difficult for those with intelligence who are manifestly attached to things and non-things, etc., to fathom. If those most profound ways of the Sugata are not well understood, then, when it is taught that things are unborn and unceasing, the conduct of the non-conceptual wisdom of yogis, and the very realm of entering into the non-perverted reality of dharma, become close in the manner of being without a realm. If one then slanders, saying that even conventional arising and so forth do not exist, and speculates, 'If all these are empty, there is no arising and no ceasing,' and so forth, and if one teaches that in conventionality, taking vows purely and meditating in samadhi, and accordingly, things arise, abide, and cease, then those speculations that think that it is also that way in reality do not truly transcend the wilderness of existence. If liberation is accomplished merely by teaching the ultimate truth, then what need is there to teach the two truths? Like this, without relying on convention, one cannot teach the ultimate meaning. That is because it is truly beyond all paths. Without eliminating all the speculations that others have completely conceived, one cannot speculate in reality, and one will not come to understand wisdom that is well separated from others. Therefore, reality is also taught, for without relying on the ultimate meaning, one will not attain nirvana. It is the characteristic of the near pacification of karma, afflictions, and birth. Those who boast of being wise, if they see the aggregates as non-things because of emptiness, or see the aggregates as things because of non-emptiness, I have seen, am seeing, and will see. The aggregates are emptiness, emptiness is other than the aggregates, the aggregates exist in emptiness, emptiness exists in the aggregates, emptiness is united with the aggregates—thinking like this is the four ways.

For those with manifest pride in their views, if they misunderstand emptiness, it will destroy those with little wisdom. Because it obstructs the life force of non-conceptual wisdom, it destroys. To misunderstand means to have a wrong view, seeing things as entities and non-entities, etc. How does it destroy? Like wrongly grasping a snake and wrongly practicing a mantra. If a fierce, venomous snake is wrongly grasped, it will destroy the one who grasps it. Like the sky appearing indigo, and thinking to adorn the sky with the rays of one's own ornamental jewels. If a mantra is wrongly practiced, the practitioner himself will be destroyed due to the deficiency of the ritual. Because emptiness is so difficult to understand and causes harm, therefore, the Buddha, knowing that the weak find it difficult to understand the depth of this Dharma, the Buddha's mind turned away from teaching the Dharma. Those of shallow wisdom, knowing that it is difficult to understand the depth of this Dharma, therefore, the mind of the Buddha, who attained perfect enlightenment, turned away from teaching the Dharma. The emptiness you speak of to me, because it falls into faults, will be abandoned, and that is not appropriate for emptiness. The emptiness you speak of to us, if all these are empty, there will be no arising and no destruction. From "saying so harms the Three Jewels" to "between" the faults, it will be abandoned, and that is not appropriate for emptiness, because in the ultimate truth, it is also empty by its very nature of non-entity. I do not make it empty in a non-entity way, that is the thought. By refuting the non-emptiness that others have imputed, it is said that all phenomena are empty, because things and so on are empty of inherent existence. It is not to establish emptiness either, because it is also desired to abandon the conceptualization of emptiness. As it is said in the Sutra: Light Protector, the view of self is as easy as Mount Sumeru, but the emptiness of those with manifest pride is difficult.

It is said that one should not view it in that way, and similarly, one should not view form as empty, one should not view non-empty, and so on. Furthermore, whatever is suitable for emptiness, everything is suitable for it. "Everything" refers to arising, and so on. How does it become suitable? For example, for an illusory person like the eye, just as the nature of the person is empty, even though the nature of existence and non-existence is empty, if all the collections of causes are present, then arising occurs, which is suffering. Seeing that suffering and so on in various aspects is the truth of suffering. The cause of suffering is the arising of all suffering, because it arises from that. Now, seeing the aspects of arising and so on is the truth of arising. The cessation of the cause of suffering is cessation, and seeing that cessation and so on in various aspects is the truth of cessation. The means of obtaining the cessation of the cause of suffering is the path, and seeing that path and so on in various aspects is the truth of the path. Therefore, if there are four noble truths in this way, then the Dharma is also accomplished, because it is understood from all aspects by self-originated wisdom, and because it is in accordance with what is taught to the Shravakas, the Buddha is also accomplished, as it is said: Monks, in the past, when I saw this as suffering, it was the eye and consciousness, and wisdom and the arising of intelligence. Similarly, in the ultimate sense, seeing the nature of things as illusory, as unborn and so on, is seeing the noble truths, as it is said: Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as unborn, has completely known suffering. Whoever sees all dharmas as not abiding, has abandoned arising. Whoever sees all dharmas as completely passing into Nirvana, has realized cessation. Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as not to be meditated upon, has meditated on the path, as it is said. Even by the method of the Great Vehicle, if the noble truths are accomplished, then the Dharma and the Buddha are also accomplished, so everything.
