It becomes something with birth and destruction. The statement "It becomes something with birth and destruction" means that since I do not want "self" to be something with birth and destruction, it is difficult to point out that there is something that is not of that nature, and it is possible to say that ultimately there is no self, because it is not of the nature of birth and destruction, like a rabbit's horn. Or, if the aggregates were the self, they would become something with birth and destruction. The statement "If the aggregates were the self, they would become something with birth and destruction" means that the aggregates are of the nature of birth and destruction. Therefore, ultimately it is possible to know that the five aggregates, which have the nature of being form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, are not the self, because they are of the nature of birth and destruction, like a pot. Similarly, inference should be expanded with reasons such as being the result, being the cause, sometimes being happy, being the cause of complete suffering, having doubtful knowledge, and being the cause of wrong views. The Vaisheshikas say that the self is different from the body, senses, and mind, is the basis of happiness and so on, is the agent, has no thought, is permanent, and is all-pervading. The Samkhyas say that the self is different from the result and the cause, is not the agent, is the enjoyer, is pure, is all-pervading, is unchanging, and has thought, and they also consider the purusha to be the cause. Does this proof not harm those people? Therefore, the teacher determined that it is difficult to point out a self different from the aggregates, and then explained for those people: If it is different from the aggregates, it will not have the nature of the aggregates. Not having the nature of the aggregates is not the nature of the aggregates, and it will not be the nature of being form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, this is the concluding statement. Thus, this shows that the dharma of the investigated self is not the nature of the aggregates. The example is a subject that is famous in both the thing to be proven and the dharma to be proven, such as the son of a barren woman. Here, inference is the meaning.

O Supreme One, there is nothing other than the aggregates such as form, because it is not the nature of the aggregates, like the child of a barren woman. If it is said that Nirvana is not the nature of the aggregates, therefore it is uncertain. Then, a thing without nature does not exist anywhere. Because in this statement, things like Nirvana, which are non-compounded, have been excluded, so there is no contradictory side, and it is not uncertain. If the author says that because the members such as the proposition have not been stated, there is the fault of not being able to establish it. Because it is a meaningful sentence, there is no fault. Like this, the words of the scholars are meaningful words, because the words are concise and the meaning is vast, so it is considered to be the basis of many words combined by meaning. For the combined words, that may also become a fault. Or it may not become a fault for that, whether it is a treatise or in the scriptures, some branches are famous. Some people say that because of the subject and so on, the previous reason is uncertain. That is not good, because the sentence "A thing without nature does not exist anywhere" has already answered. The meaning of the words constant and pervasive is not the basis of happiness and suffering, etc., because of the reason of being born, etc., like form and so on. The detailed explanation is the same as before. I am not omnipresent, because I am a substance, like a pot. If it is said that it is uncertain with space, because it has been prevented that space exists as a substance, and its pervasiveness is also prevented like my pervasiveness, so it is not uncertain. Similarly, I am not the doer, because I am not embodied, like karma. I am not constant, because I am a substance, like a pot. Similarly, it can also be said that it is because of the reasons such as knowability, speakability, and thingness. I am also not without cause, because I am a thing, like a pot. Similarly, because it is the reason of being the meaning of words, etc.
