For that which does not exist, there is no enjoyer who enjoys its fruit. For example, like a garland of flowers in the sky. For karma, there is an enjoyer who enjoys the fruit. Whichever being is obscured by ignorance, that one who possesses craving is the enjoyer. This is also not different from the agent, nor is it that itself. There is such a saying. Among these, ignorance is the dharma that is contrary to wisdom. Obscured by it means covered. The term 'whichever being' refers to whichever being is born, that is, sentient beings. The term 'possessing craving' means that craving is desire. Because it possesses that very connection, it is 'possessing craving,' which is synonymous with 'possessing the connection of craving.' That is the enjoyer of the fruit of karma. As it is said in the Sutra Pitaka: 'Sentient beings obscured by ignorance possess the connection of craving.' Similarly, if you yourselves have committed this sinful deed, you yourselves must experience its ripening. Therefore, it is said that it is also not different from the agent, nor is it that itself, because it cannot be said to be that itself or something else. Therefore, because there exists an enjoyer who enjoys the fruit of karma, as stated in the aforementioned reason, karma is truly existent from the ultimate point of view. What is said here is that this is merely the beginning of the treatise, a general thing. Therefore, it is not produced from conditions. A fruit produced not from conditions does not exist. Because there is no fruit, how could that which is not a condition become a condition? Thus it has been said. Because this karma is not produced from conditions, and that which is not produced from conditions does not exist, therefore there is also no agent. That is also because it is not produced, because the agent is prevented, and because it is not substantially existent. Therefore, this is what is meant. Therefore, as the proof has been shown in this way, if karma and the agent do not exist, how could the fruit produced from karma exist? Therefore, if the fruit does not exist, how could the enjoyer exist? This is what is meant, because there is no reason to speak of an enjoyer. Therefore, because there exists an enjoyer who enjoys its fruit.

That phrase's meaning is not established. To show wrongly is to contradict the meaning. Here some say that the view of slandering karma and its result is a wrong view, therefore, it is unreasonable for Madhyamikas, whose eyes of wisdom are obscured by the taint of faulty views, to see only that as correct. Here it is said, how to show emanation, with the perfection of miraculous power, emanating and with emanation emanating other emanations, that emanation also, like others, should be combined with the term 'emanation.' Likewise, whatever action the agent does, that too is like an emanation. Similarly, the agent of whatever action the agent does is also like an emanation, because it is the nature that arises from the continuous chain of causes and conditions since beginningless time. That action is also like an emanation, because it lacks inherent existence. For example, an emanation creates another emanation, just like that. For example, just as an emanation of the Thus-Gone One creates another emanation, that too lacks inherent existence. Afflictions, actions, and bodies, agents and results, are like a city of gandharvas, like mirages and dreams. Because they arise from the collection of causes and conditions, and are known conventionally as the accumulations for attaining higher realms and liberation, therefore, by acknowledging them conventionally, there is no fault as stated before because one does not slander karma and its results. If it is said that slandering those in the ultimate truth is not an answer, that was said before. If things are not established, non-things will not be established either. The so-called 'existence' is grasped as permanent, the so-called 'non-existence' is seen as annihilation. Therefore, the wise should not abide in existence and non-existence. Because it has been shown there and the reason for establishment has been stated, it is not that there is no answer because of admitting that karma and its results do not exist. Or, those who possess minds that are extremely deluded, if things in the ultimate truth lack inherent existence, then karma and its results and their connection, agents and experiencers do not exist, therefore, abiding in celibacy becomes meaningless, in order to remove the veil of delusion of those people, therefore, in the conventional truth, karma and so on are all in the form of emanations and so forth.
