It is because of the transformation. The purity of body and speech cannot be called mind, although they are initiated by the mind, it is because they are perfected through the path of body and speech. What is meant by "intention"? That is body and speech. "Intention" refers to what is done after thinking in the mind. Therefore, what is said as "intention" is of body and speech, because they arise from body and speech, and it is from their path that they are ultimately completed. Thus, for the time being, two forms of karma are shown. If asked how many forms there are? Speech and action, and non-abandoning, called non-revealing form, abandoning non-revealing form, others are also recognized as such. Merit arising from enjoyment, and the way of non-merit are also the same. Mind and these seven dharmas are considered as karma. Among them, speech is to clearly speak words. Action is the movement of the body. The so-called "non-abandoning non-revealing form" refers to, from the moment one vows to do such and such an evil deed with body, speech, or mind, even if the actor does not do that deed, but from the cause of truly accepting the evil deed, the non-abandoning nature of the non-revealing form. The other "abandoning non-revealing form" is also recognized in the same way, that is, from the thought of vowing to do such and such a good deed with body, speech, or mind, even if the actor does not do that deed, but from the mind of truly accepting the good deed, the abandoning nature of the non-revealing form. The so-called "non-revealing form", although it is the nature of things and actions, it is called non-revealing form because it does not make others aware of it like revealing form. The so-called "merit arising from enjoyment" is to combine the sentence "merit arises from the cause of complete enjoyment". The so-called "complete enjoyment" refers to the complete offering of wealth and enjoyment to the objects of the Three Jewels. The so-called "arising from its cause" means arising from its result, that is, connection and growth.

These are the enumeration of names. The so-called "merit" is merit because it purifies, and it is a name for "virtue." Non-merit arising from enjoyment is also the same, and it is a synonym for "arising from the cause of complete enjoyment." Non-merit should be understood from the opposite of merit. The so-called "thought" refers to the action of the mind. So, what is "thought"? It is when the mind manifestly acts from the aspects of merit and fault, and it is the action of the mind. Thus, these seven, such as speech, are Dharma, and Dharma is so because it holds its own characteristics. The so-called "manifesting as karma" means that it is considered to be the nature of karma. There are also actions such as meditation and recitation, but because they are all included in these, it is determined to take only seven. Seeing the connection between karma and its result is the characteristic of the arising of the five aggregates in the five realms of existence. Thus, with the reasoning of the characteristic of the connection between karma and its result, in reality, the internal formations have samsara, and therefore, because there is bondage and liberation, in reality, internal things have inherent existence. Here it is said, if this karma exists from the time it arises until it ripens, or if it perishes after it arises, then let us consider this for a moment. If it exists until the time of ripening, then karma becomes permanent. If something that does not perish immediately after arising is not of its nature, then it is unreasonable for it to perish later, and therefore it would entail the fault of becoming permanent. If it is like a water tree, a reed, or a bamboo, and it perishes after the fruit ripens, is there no fault? It is not without fault, because water trees and so on perish in each moment, and it is admitted that the perishing due to the cessation of the continuum of the same kind is different, and also, in reality, like karma, it is unreasonable for bamboo and so on to be related to the fruit, and it is also difficult to explain how something that did not perish earlier becomes its nature later. If before the cause of destruction, although there is no destruction, it will exist later, so it did not perish earlier.
