Moreover, for that which is continuously arising, since it is not of a speakable nature, there is no liberation. If you say that there is no fault because there is bondage and liberation for the continuum, that is not reasonable because the continuum is not substantially existent. Furthermore, for the continuum that is afflicted, not afflicted, not of a speakable nature, and so forth, liberation cannot be established as before. Moreover, if you consider bondage and liberation to be nominal, then you have violated your commitment. For those who speak of sentient beings being bound and liberated, it should also be said: As before, sentient beings also do not bind, nor do they transform into liberation. As before, sentient beings also do not bind, because the faults of permanence and impermanence have already been stated. Nor do they transform into liberation, it should be understood as having shown that liberation is not reasonable for permanent and impermanent phenomena. Although the refutation of the bondage of sentient beings is no different from what was shown earlier, the disputants are different, because earlier it was intended to refute the sole assertion of the bondage of sentient beings. Here, it is to show that the refutation is the same for those who assert both the bondage and liberation of sentient beings. Others say: The appropriation of sentient beings is bondage, therefore appropriation is bondage, and the complete pacification of that appropriation is liberation, and because it is not of a nature that can be spoken of as permanent or impermanent, the fault of stating permanence and impermanence with respect to phenomena and sentient beings is not reasonable, therefore there is no fault as stated. Here it says: If appropriation is bondage, then that which possesses appropriation does not transform into bondage. If, in the ultimate sense, appropriation is bondage, then the appropriator Devadatta, who possesses appropriation, by what appropriation is he said to possess appropriation, that does not transform into bondage. Or, if appropriation is bondage, then that which possesses appropriation does not transform into liberation. It should also be combined in this way, because it is not desired that one who possesses it is liberation, therefore the refutation is inconsistent. Or, in the ultimate sense, the appropriation of Devadatta, that does not appropriate, because it is appropriation. For example, like the appropriation of a sacrifice. If so, what is the meaning of the commitment? If for the appropriator

If it is said that whatever is closely taken is not its bond, then there is no example, because the close taking of sacrifice is a bond. If it is said that there is another bond, then it harms the previous view, which is also unreasonable, because the close taking of sacrifice has not been established as the bond of Devadatta itself, so it is not without an example. Moreover, since no other bond has been admitted, there is no harm to the previous view. Ultimately, this close taking of Devadatta himself is not a close taking, because it depends on relying on a special expression, like the close taking of sacrifice. In this way, not having a close taking is also not established as existing, so not having a close taking does not bind, and not having a close taking does not become a bond. Since there is no other state except for the state of having the characteristic of having and not having a close taking, therefore, which state will become a bond? Thus it is said, this is the meaning of the words that there is no bond. Others say that sentient beings being bound is the only existence, because its bond exists, such as iron chains, etc. If there is a bond, then the thing bound by it also exists, therefore the close taking of the bond exists, so sentient beings being bound is the only existence. Here it is said, as you wish, if before being bound, the bond exists, then it depends on the bond. That is also not there, because before being bound, the bond is also not there, which shows that the dharma of close taking is not a different time. Therefore, it can be inferred that ultimately, the close taking of Devadatta is not the bond of Devadatta, because it is simultaneous, like Devadatta's own nature. Or, if before being bound, the bond exists, then it depends on the bond. That is also not there, because before being bound, the bond is also not there, which shows that the dharma of close taking is previously non-existent. Therefore, it can be inferred that ultimately, the close taking of Devadatta is not the bond of Devadatta, because it is previously non-existent, like the close taking of sacrifice. Remainder
