It will be averted. The detailed explanation is as before. The eleventh volume of the commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, "The Lamp of Wisdom." Here it is said: In the ultimate sense, the entities of the internal sense bases have inherent existence, because they are the cause of expressions and distinct objects that are different from themselves, just as the expressions of long and short and the cause of distinct objects are. Similarly, for what is other than oneself, there is also the expression "this is other" and the cause of distinct expressions. Here it is said: Since many inferences have been stated to show the absence of inherent existence in this, it has already been shown that things lack inherent existence. If inherent existence does not exist, then where does the other thing exist? Please tell me! Inherent existence is called the other thing in dependence on something other than itself, so it should be understood. Therefore, it is said, "The inherent existence of the other thing is called the other thing." That is, the inherent existence of the other thing itself is called the other thing in dependence on another thing. Because there is no inherent existence, the other thing is also not established, therefore, is the meaning of the reason "because it is the cause of expressions and distinct objects that are different from oneself" not established? It is also contradictory in meaning, and there is no example, because long and short are not established. Others say that things like the eye have inherent existence in the ultimate sense, because they are things, just like the heat of fire. Here it is said: When examining existence and non-existence and firewood, because the heat of fire has been eliminated in the ultimate sense, and existence has been negated in the ultimate sense, and birth has been negated, fire is not established, therefore there is the fault of the subject of the example not being established, and the fault of the example not possessing the dharma to be proven. Also, where do things exist apart from inherent existence and other things? Things do not exist, this is the meaning of this sentence. Why? Because the nature of things that arise in dependence on causes and conditions is called inherent existence.

(Refutation) says: Things other than self-nature, such as causes, are called other things. In this regard, if self-nature and other things exist, things can be established. However, how can they not exist? Just like the general and specific characteristics have been distinguished before. Since it has been distinguished, therefore, the meaning of the reason "because it is a thing" is not established. It is said here: Those who regard things as self-nature, other things, and existence and non-existence, these people have not truly seen the Buddha's teachings. What you are going to say next, but now you say: Apart from self-nature and other things, where do things exist? Saying this will create a contradiction. Or it can be said that things do exist, because there are inconsistent aspects, for example, because there are crows, there are owls. It is said here: Since the arising in the ultimate sense has been prevented, if things are not established, then the establishment of non-things is also impossible. Because things are prevented, it is said that there are no things. Since non-things are not mentioned either, there is no damage to the commitment, and the meaning of the reason is not unestablished. Or it can be said that things turn into other things, and people say that this is non-things. Because there are no things, then that is also non-existent, so the reason is uncommon, or it is contradictory in meaning. There is also no example, because it is not known that crows and owls do exist. Because of such careful observation, self-nature, other things, and non-things are not established, therefore, those sons of the Tathagata who have immaculate wisdom, illuminate all the oceans of knowledge with the light of wisdom, in order to benefit all sentient beings, those practitioners who practice the difficult path of the Tathagata, walking on the chariot of non-discriminating wisdom, they will not regard things as self-nature, other things, existence and non-existence. Those small beings who are not as good as them, even in other lives, cannot tolerate the deep and vast Dharma, and their wisdom becomes dull due to the habits of clinging to self-nature, other things, existence and non-existence. Those who regard things as self-nature, other things, and existence and
