Then, those (goals) called bondage and liberation, (which are) liberation from suffering, are accomplished. The examination of bondage and liberation is taken up here, this is the sixteenth chapter. Here it is said: If one views things as existent or non-existent, samsara is not reasonable, because it would lead to the fault of permanence and annihilation. This is not acceptable. Why? Because it is related to karma and its result. What is karma? Self well-disciplined, and benefiting others, whatever loving-kindness, that is dharma, that is the seed of fruits in this and other (lives). Self well-disciplined is making oneself well-disciplined. Benefiting others is making benefit to other beings. Loving-kindness occurs to friends, it is a synonym for 'affection'. Or, loving-kindness is loving-kindness itself, it is a synonym for 'softness of mind', that is the cause for one's own benefit. Self well-disciplined, benefiting others, and whatever mind of loving-kindness, that is dharma. That itself is the seed of fruits, it is the cause of fruits in this and other (lives). Thus, the Bhagavan also said that there are eight benefits when practicing loving-kindness, people will be happy. Thus, he extensively taught. All three kinds of karma are for the sake of dharma. Mind is shown as the seed, because both body and speech depend on it. Thus, the Bhagavan also said: Mind precedes all dharmas. Thus, he taught the verse. The actions of the supreme sage are, mind and thought, thus it is said. The distinctions of those actions are, completely proclaimed in various ways. The supreme sage, the Buddha Bhagavan, summarized the actions into two types: mind is the seed, and thought is what is done in the future. The differences of these two types of actions, the Bhagavan also completely proclaimed and showed in various ways there. Among them, the action that is said to be mind, is considered to be of the mind. What is said to be thought, is of body and speech. Among them, the action that is said to be mind, is considered to be of the mind.

That's right. The so-called "karma of thought" refers to the actions of body or speech after thinking "I will do this" in the mind, which are the actions of body and speech, and actions that have not been thought of are not. Speech and action, as well as non-abandoning, non-revealing form, abandoning non-revealing form, others are also recognized in the same way. The merit arising from enjoyment, and the principle of non-merit are also the same, mind and these seven dharmas are recognized as manifesting as karma. Among them, speech refers to clearly uttering words. Action refers to the movement of the body, and these two are also under the control of karma, so they belong to the path of karma, and here they should also be understood as being counted as karma. The so-called non-abandoning non-revealing form refers to thinking "this unwholesome karma, I will do it with body or speech", from the moment of truly generating an unwholesome mind, even if that unwholesome karma is not done with body or speech, only those unwholesome karmas arising from the cause of truly generating an unwholesome mind will arise, those are called non-abandoning non-revealing form. Other abandoning non-revealing forms are also recognized in the same way, thinking "this wholesome karma, I will do it with body or speech", from the moment of truly generating a wholesome mind, even if that wholesome karma is not done with body or speech, only those wholesome karmas arising from the cause of truly generating a wholesome mind will arise, those are called abandoning non-revealing form. The merit arising from enjoyment refers to the merit arising from the cause of complete enjoyment, the so-called arising from cause refers to following, connecting, and continuously increasing, which is merit itself. The non-merit arising from enjoyment is also the same principle. The so-called mind refers to the mind manifesting and creating. In this way, these various karmas are also included in pure and other dharmas, therefore these seven dharmas such as speech are considered to be manifesting as karma, having the name of karma, and the nature of karma. Thus, there are seven kinds of karma.
