Bondage and separation are called liberation. Explanation: That which is not bound will not be liberated either. Just as whatever is separate from bondage is only that which is not bound. Since that which is not bound is itself liberation, what need is there to do liberation for it? Therefore, that which is not bound will not be liberated either. It is said: Bondage is liberated, just as bondage will be liberated. This is well-known in the world. Explanation: Then, it is well-known in the world. What is said is well said, because since it is well-known in the world, it will not enter into the consideration of ultimate truth. How is it? Because, If bondage is being liberated, Bondage and liberation will occur at the same time. If bondage can be liberated, then, that which possesses bondage is called bondage, and that which possesses liberation is called liberation, so bondage and liberation will both become simultaneous. Since two incompatible things, bondage and liberation, cannot exist in one thing, therefore, bondage is liberated, which is irrelevant. Here it is said: If liberation itself is unreasonable, then for those who fear samsara, when will the thought arise, "I will be completely liberated from samsara without attachment"? When will the thought arise, "Complete liberation will become mine"? Also, what is the key to attaining liberation? Won't all the efforts made to attain liberation become meaningless? Explanation: Seeking with non-methods, and teaching and writing instructions will undoubtedly become meaningless. Just as the thought of "I will be completely liberated from samsara without attachment" and the thought of "liberation will become mine," how can that be liberation? When, "I will enter nirvana without grasping, May nirvana become mine." Those who hold these thoughts, Have not properly grasped grasping. Here, the complete pacification of grasping is called nirvana, and the root of all grasping is the attachment to self and what belongs to self.

Therefore, who are those who, without taking hold of self, completely enter into nirvana? Those who presumptuously think that the complete nirvana without taking hold becomes mine, because they completely grasp the self and what belongs to the self, and certainly exist, therefore, their grasping of the self and what belongs to the self is not well grasped. How can liberation be appropriate with grasping? What is it that completely enters into nirvana without grasping, and whose is the complete nirvana? All these are produced by his existence and ignorance. Here it is said: For the time being, samsara and nirvana do exist. But they are only of some, not of nothing. Therefore, the wanderer in samsara and the one who attains nirvana also exist, and that is enough for me. It is refuted: Are you guarding an empty vessel? You, for whom incompatible bondage and liberation, yet want to have samsara and nirvana? For where there is no arising of nirvana, and no elimination of samsara, then what is samsara? And what is nirvana? Like this, for samsara, sentient beings and actions are bound, and should be eliminated and abandoned from samsara; for nirvana, not arising and implanting, then what does the word samsara mean? For what nothing is eliminated, for what nothing is produced, then what is that nirvana? Or, this is another meaning, like this, for those who strive to completely exhaust samsara and to obtain some nirvana, they will not eliminate and abandon samsara, nor will they produce and increase nirvana, because it is not real, it only becomes devoid of discrimination, then what is there to discriminate as samsara, and what is there to say as nirvana? Therefore, those who see things as existent and non-existent, because they will fall into eternalism and nihilism, therefore, for them, samsara and nirvana, and bondage and liberation are not reasonable. Only for those who speak of dependent origination, samsara and
