It is also not reasonable. The antidote to such transformation is self-nature, therefore, isn't it said that self-nature is immutable and of a permanent nature? Therefore, the non-existence of things is also unreasonable. Holding onto things as existing or non-existing leads to another fault here: 'What is called 'existing' is grasped as permanent; what is called 'non-existing' is seen as annihilation. Therefore, the wise should not abide in existence and non-existence.' To see things as 'existing' leads to the fault of grasping at permanence. To see things as 'non-existing' leads to the fault of viewing them as annihilation. Both of these are meaningless and harmful. Therefore, if one holds onto existence and non-existence, one will fall into the fault of viewing them as permanence and annihilation, which is also meaningless and harmful. Therefore, the wise who desire to realize the truth and transcend the wilderness of samsara should not abide in existence or non-existence. Question: If one holds onto existence and non-existence, how does one fall into the fault of viewing them as permanence and annihilation? Answer: 'Whatever has inherent existence is not non-existent, therefore it is permanent. To say that something existed before but does not exist now leads to the fault of annihilation.' Like this, whatever exists by its own nature cannot later be non-existent, because self-nature is immutable, therefore holding onto existence leads to holding onto permanence. To say that something existed before but does not exist now, that is, to view an existing thing as destroyed, leads to viewing it as annihilation. Therefore, since holding onto existence and non-existence of things leads to faults, it is said that things are without inherent existence, which is the correct view, that is, the Middle Way, and only in this way can the ultimate truth be accomplished. Examination of things and non-things, which is the fifteenth chapter. Commentary on the Root Verses of the Middle Way by Buddhapālita, Volume Six. Here it is said that if seeing things and non-things as non-existent, then neither samsara, nirvana, bondage, nor liberation are reasonable, so how can that be the truth? If seeing things and non-things as existent, then all of these are reasonable, because seeing things and non-things

It is just seeing that. Explanation: For those who see things and non-things, all these are unreasonable. If asked how is it unreasonable? For those who speak of things here, when they are completely attached to things, if they completely attach to conditioned phenomena and sentient beings as things, then, when they are completely attached to these as things, they will fall into the fault of being permanent or impermanent. Regarding this, if it is said that conditioned phenomena are revolving, then, if they are permanent, they will not revolve; if they are impermanent, they will not revolve either. Sentient beings are also the same order. Regarding this, if one temporarily completely clings to the idea that conditioned phenomena are revolving, that is unreasonable. Why? Like this: If they are permanent, they will not revolve; if they are impermanent, they will not revolve either. Temporarily, if all conditioned phenomena are permanent, they will not revolve, why? Because permanent things are unchanging. Here, what is called revolving is the continuous arising and ceasing there and there through the continuity of the stream. Therefore, permanent conditioned phenomena, unchanging conditioned phenomena, cannot be the nature of arising and destruction. Therefore, if all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, they will not revolve. If all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, they will not revolve either. Like this, here, whichever conditioned phenomena cease, those very conditioned phenomena will not arise elsewhere. Therefore, for things that have completely ceased, revolving is unreasonable. Therefore, if all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, they will not revolve either. Thus, temporarily, things called conditioned phenomena, both permanent and impermanent, cannot be revolving. Regarding this, if someone thinks that conditioned phenomena are not revolving, but sentient beings are revolving, then it should be said to them: Sentient beings are also the same order. For conditioned phenomena, it has been shown that revolving is unreasonable, the same order also applies to sentient beings. Like this, if it is a sentient being, then will a permanent or impermanent thing revolve? Therefore, for sentient beings, it is impossible for permanent things to revolve, because they are unchanging. For impermanent things, revolving is also impossible, because they completely cease without needing to be arranged. Here someone says: That order is not the same as sentient beings revolving. Like this, sentient beings cannot be said to be the same or different from the aggregates, sense bases, and elements, nor can they be said to be permanent or impermanent. Therefore,
