An object without characteristics, does not exist anywhere. The word "also" means "itself", an object without characteristics is itself something that does not exist anywhere, it is not explained in any treatise. So, if, in the non-object without characteristics, where will the characteristic function? It should be explained. Like this, for the uncharacteristic, the characteristic does not function, therefore, because the object without characteristics does not exist anywhere, so if the object without characteristics does not exist, then the characteristic is not suitable to function on the rootless object. Then, will it be thought that the characteristic will function on the object with characteristics? Explanation: For the characteristic-possessing, no. It is also not suitable for the characteristic to function on the object with characteristics, because there is no need. What is the use of the characteristic for the object itself which is already fully established with its own characteristic? If so, it will fall into the fault of endlessness, because it will never become without characteristics, and it will always fall into the fault of the characteristic functioning. This is also not desirable. Therefore, it is also not suitable for the characteristic to function on the object with characteristics. Then, will it be thought that the characteristic will function on something other than the characteristic-possessing and the characteristic-less? Explanation: From other than the characteristic-possessing and the characteristic-less, it will also not function. Why? Because it is impossible. If it is characteristic-possessing, then it is not characteristic-less. If it is characteristic-less, then it is not characteristic-possessing. Therefore, characteristic-possessing and characteristic-less, these two are mutually contradictory negations. Therefore, just because it is impossible, the characteristic is also not suitable to function on something other than the characteristic-possessing and the characteristic-less.

If it is not direct, then self-nature does not exist either. If it becomes self-nature because it relies on the basis of self-nature, then that basis of self-nature is also unreasonable. If there is no basis of self-nature, how can a self-nature without a basis be reasonable? Therefore, self-nature itself does not exist. Therefore, the basis of self-nature does not exist, and self-nature itself does not exist. Thus, because self-nature cannot be established in any way after examination, the basis of self-nature does not exist. Because the basis of self-nature does not exist, the non-existent self-nature does not exist either. The questioner says: This is the basis of self-nature, this is self-nature. Although it cannot be said like this, for the time being, things do exist. The answerer says: Apart from the basis of self-nature and self-nature, things do not exist either. If some thing were to exist, it would either be the basis of self-nature or self-nature. Since it is neither the basis of self-nature nor self-nature, it does not exist. Therefore, apart from the basis of self-nature and self-nature, no thing exists. The questioner says: Things do exist, why? Because non-existent things exist. To this, you say that the basis of self-nature and self-nature do not exist, which is relative to things. Therefore, the thing that you say does not exist refers to some existing thing, so because non-existent things exist, things do exist. The answerer says: Well said. If non-existent things exist, then things would also exist. Since non-existent things do not exist, how can things exist? How so? If things do not exist, then to what does non-existence belong? Previously it was said: Apart from the basis of self-nature and self-nature, things do not exist either. Since things do not exist, to what does your non-existent thing belong? In this way, if the substance of things does not exist, and things do not exist, then to what does the non-existent thing belong? Therefore, because things do not exist, the non-existence of things does not exist either. The questioner says: What things and the non-existence of things
