What does this do? Why is it said that walking is unreasonable? Because it is neither gone nor not gone. It has already been explained that walking cannot be known. If it is considered a walker just because of those, then it is not walking, therefore, considering it a walker is meaningless. Here it is said: Because it is a walker, walking itself is walking. For example, speakers say words, just like saying doing things. Explanation: If we examine the walking of the walker, then with which walking does that walker appear? Is it that walking itself, or is another walking walking? Neither of the two can be seen. Why? With which walking does the walker appear? That walking is not what he is walking. With which walking is it associated? That walking that appears as "Caitra is a walker" is not what that walker is walking. Why? Because there is no (walker) before walking. Who will go where? Because walking With which walking does the walker appear? This walking before is before walking, and before that there is no walker. It is only because it is associated with it that it is called a walker. Who will go where? For example, like villages and cities, because they become different, they walk. If after becoming a walker, that walking that he will walk, compared to the walker, has not become different like villages and cities. Thus, for the time being, with which walking does the walker appear? That walking is not what the walker is walking. If someone thinks that there is another walking walking, then, explanation: With which walking does the walker appear? That other one is not walking. Associated with which walking, that walking other than the one that appears as "Caitra is a walker" is also not what that walker is walking. Why? Because for the only walker, it is unreasonable to have two walkings. Because for the only walker, that which appears as the walker, and that walking that will be walked after becoming the walker, these two walkings are unreasonable, therefore, that walking other than that is also not what the walker is walking. Therefore, saying words, doing things, these are also answered.

Here it is said: Are there not villages and cities, etc., as places to be traveled by the traveler? Answer: This has already been answered. Relying on villages and cities, how can it be thought that there is traveling to the village, or that there is traveling without going, or that there is traveling while walking? Therefore, that does not exist. Also, He who has become a traveler, does not travel in three ways of traveling. He who has become a non-traveler, also does not travel in three ways of traveling. He who has become both a traveler and a non-traveler, also does not travel in three ways of traveling. Therefore, neither traveling nor the traveler, nor the place to be traveled exists. "He who has become a traveler" means the traveler who possesses traveling. "He who has become a non-traveler" means the traveler who is separated from traveling. "He who has become both a traveler and a non-traveler" means the traveler who both possesses traveling and is separated from traveling. "Traveling" is a synonym for the place to be traveled. "Three ways" means gone, not gone, and walking. Therefore, if one fully examines with such truly following wisdom, then he who has become a traveler does not travel in the three ways of the place to be traveled; he who has become a non-traveler also does not travel in the three ways of the place to be traveled; and he who has become both a traveler and a non-traveler also does not travel in the three ways of the place to be traveled. Therefore, neither traveling, nor the traveler, nor the place to be traveled exists. Since the act of traveling is the most important among all actions, if the act of traveling is fully examined, and it is strongly proven that traveling is unreasonable, then all actions are also proven to be unreasonable. The examination of gone, not gone, and walking is called the Second Chapter. Commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way by Buddhapālita, Volume Two. Here it is said: You have very well explained the unreasonableness of traveling, which makes my mind happy to hear about emptiness. Therefore, now it is appropriate to briefly explain the view based on one's own tenets. Answer: Let it be so. Said: Seeing and hearing and smelling, and the mind that tastes and touches, these six faculties
