Destruction. These three characteristics of conditioned phenomena do not exist. Therefore, neither conditioned nor unconditioned phenomena exist at all. Birth, abiding, and decay, which are said to be the characteristics of conditioned phenomena, do not exist because they are unreasonable when analyzed. For what reason does it not exist? Because of that reason, neither conditioned nor unconditioned phenomena exist at all. Furthermore, even if conditioned phenomena have been accepted, they do not exist because they are unreasonable when analyzed. Thus it is said. Why is that? What has not decayed is not decaying, and what has decayed is not decaying either. Abiding is not abiding, and not abiding is not abiding either. What has been born is not being born, and what has not been born is not being born either. Here, will something that has already been born be born again? Or will something that has not been born be born? Regarding this, first of all, what has already been born is not being born. Why is that? Because it has already been born. What has not been born is also not being born, why is that? Because it has not been born yet. That which has been born itself, will something that abides abide? Or will something that does not abide abide? Regarding this also, abiding is not abiding, because it has already abided. What does not abide is also not abiding, why is that? Because it has not yet abided. Now, will something that has already decayed decay? Or will something that has not decayed decay? Neither case is reasonable. For what reason, even if conditioned phenomena have been accepted, if one searches using these three steps, because it is unreasonable, therefore conditioned phenomena do not exist. Because conditioned phenomena do not exist, unconditioned phenomena are also impossible. Furthermore, conditioned and unconditioned phenomena are neither many nor one. They are neither existent nor nonexistent, nor both existent and nonexistent. In this place, that is, in this definite grasping, all of these are gathered, that is, it is said that all without exception gather. All means everything. The aspects of these two have already been collected, one should know. Here it is said, the Lord said that karma exists. The guru is the master of karma, as well as the result. Sentient beings are the masters of karma, as well as actions. Karma is not wasted, thus it is said. The Bhagavan, in the sutras, also fully revealed karma and the results of karma in various ways. Karma is not without results, it is also said. Karma

It is also said, "Actions are not wasted, and sentient beings are the owners of their actions." Therefore, actions and their results exist. Here it is said: Because it has been shown that there is no inherent existence, therefore it does not arise. The indestructible "self-grasping" arises from this, and it arises from conceptual thought. Because it has been explained that actions have no inherent existence, therefore they do not perish. Furthermore, "self-grasping" arises from this, therefore actions are produced by "self-grasping," and that also arises from conceptual thought. Furthermore, if actions were to change into inherent existence, then the body born from them would become permanent. If actions were to become inherently existent, then the body born from those actions would become truly permanent in nature. It is also said that suffering does not ripen, and actions do not become the ripened result of suffering. Furthermore, therefore actions also become "self," because actions are permanent, therefore they become "self," because impermanence is suffering, and what is suffering is without self. Therefore, actions have no inherent existence, so they do not arise, and because they do not arise, they are not wasted. Furthermore, actions are not born from conditions, nor are they born from non-conditions. Actions are not born from conditions, nor is anything born from non-conditions. Why? Because formations are like illusions, cities of gandharvas, and mirages. Because formations are like cities of gandharvas, illusions, and mirages, therefore actions have no inherent existence. Furthermore, actions have afflictions as their cause, formations have afflictions as their essence, and the body has actions as its cause. All three are empty of inherent existence. Because actions arise from the cause of afflictions, formations arise from the cause of actions and afflictions, and the body arises from the cause of actions, therefore all three are empty of inherent existence. If that is the case, if there are no actions, there is no agent. Without those two, there is no result. Because there is no result, there is no enjoyer. Because there is no enjoyer, there is no analogy. Thus it is.
