Because of ceasing, it is Nirvana. The path shown is not for the sake of emptiness. Having seen birth and death, the path of Nirvana is shown, but not for the sake of emptiness. Here it is said, these are seen because of mutual contradiction and reversal. Briefly speaking, this is not knowing the unborn, but seeing birth and death, and also seeing birth as reversed from death, and seeing death as reversed from birth. Therefore, birth and death are mutually contradictory, and knowledge is also reversed, so birth and death are seen. For what reason does birth depend on death, and death depend on birth? Therefore, it is only emptiness. Here it is said, if there is no birth and death, what ceases for Nirvana? If there is no birth and no death, what ceases for Nirvana? Here it is said, is that which is naturally unborn and unceasing not liberation? Is that which is naturally unborn and unceasing not liberation? Furthermore, if Nirvana is annihilation, if it is examined like another, therefore it is neither existent nor non-existent, neither birth nor cessation. If Nirvana is annihilation, it would be nihilistic. If it is not annihilation, it would be eternalistic. Therefore, Nirvana is neither existent nor non-existent, but such as unborn and unceasing, such is Nirvana. Here it is said, cessation exists, and it is also eternally abiding. Here it is said, if some cessation exists, then it also becomes non-existent. If some cessation exists, then it also becomes non-existent at that time, and it also becomes unsupported, as it is said. That is also unreasonable, there is no it in non-existence, and there is no it in non-non-existence. Whether existent or non-existent, cessation does not exist. What is said like this? From the basis, the name is established, and from the name, the basis is established, but the self-nature is not established. One is not established from one, and the unestablished is not the establisher of the unestablished. The essence is also established from the basis.

The basis of designation is also established from the characteristic, not from its own establishment. One is not established from the other, nor are they established mutually. Thus it is said. Because by this order, both the basis of designation and the characteristic are not established, therefore the basis of designation and the characteristic are not established, these things are not established. This is about cause and effect, and those with feelings and those who feel, etc., those who see and what is seen, etc., whatever it may be, all of that has been completely explained. Here it is said: Those who study time think that time exists in multiple three times, therefore time exists. Here it is said: Because of non-abiding and mutual establishment, because of searching, because self-nature is not established, because things do not exist, the three times are not, existence is only conceptualization. Time is not established. Why is it not established? Because of non-abiding, time is thought to be non-abiding. Whatever does not abide cannot be grasped. Whatever cannot be grasped, how can it be established? Therefore it is not established. Furthermore, because of mutual establishment, it is examined that they are established from each other, that is, relying on the past to establish the present and the future, relying on the present to establish the past and the future, relying on the future to establish the present and the past, because it is examined that it is established by relying, therefore time is not established. That itself, relying on the present, is called the present, that itself, relying on the future, becomes the past, that itself, relying on the past, becomes the future, because it is sought in that way, therefore it is not established. Furthermore, because self-nature is not established, this time is not established by self-nature, therefore it is not established. Furthermore, because things do not exist, it is also not existent. If things were established, then time would also be established, but that thing, when sought, is not established in its own nature. Therefore, time is only not established by its own nature, it is merely just conceptualization. Here it is said: All conditioned phenomena are endowed with the three characteristics of arising, abiding, and ceasing, and what is the opposite of that is said to be unconditioned, therefore conditioned and unconditioned phenomena exist. Here it is said: Why, arising and abiding and
