Now, the things of others exist. Here it is said, if self-nature does not exist, how can the things of others exist? The self-nature of the things of others is said to be the things of others. If self-nature does not exist, how can the things of others exist? Because the self-nature of the things of others is said to be the things of others, if that self-nature is also completely examined, it is unreasonable, therefore the things of others also do not exist. Here it is said, even without self-nature and the things of others, things will exist. Here it is said, without self-nature and other things, how can things exist? If self-nature and other things exist, things will be established. Without self-nature and the things of others, how can things exist? Why? Like this, if self-nature and the things of others exist, things will be established. Here it is said, then, non-existent things exist. Here it is said, if things are not established, non-things will not be established. Things transform into others, people say they are non-things. If the promised things are not completely established, then, in that case, non-things will not be completely established, will they? Why? Because things transform into others, people say they are non-things. Here it is said, if one sees the truth of this thing, one will be liberated. Because there is such a saying, the self-nature of things also exists. Here it is said, those who see self-nature, other things, things and non-things, they are not the ones who truly see the Buddha's teachings. Those who see self-nature and the things of others, things and non-things, these four views, they are not the ones who truly see the teachings of the Blessed One Buddha. Furthermore, the Blessed One, by teaching things and non-things, in the Katyayana Instruction Sutra, denied both existence and non-existence. Because the Blessed One, by teaching things and non-things, in the sutra called the Katyayana Instruction Sutra, denied both existence and non-existence, therefore, things and non-thi

Those views that hold things to be without inherent existence should be abandoned. Furthermore, if self and other are truly existent, then it will not become non-existent. The change of inherent nature into something else is never reasonable. If it is inherently existent, then it will not become non-existent. Why? Because the change of inherent nature into something else is never reasonable. Furthermore, if it is not inherently existent, then what is it that changes into something else? If it is inherently existent, then how can it change into something else? The existence of things, if it is not inherently existent, then what will it change into? If it is inherently existent, then how can it change into something else? That is also unreasonable. Furthermore, to say "exists" is to cling to permanence, to say "does not exist" is to view as annihilation. Therefore, the wise should not abide in existence and non-existence. If one clings to "existence" in that way, then it is not clinging to permanence; if one clings to "non-existence" in that way, then it is viewing as annihilation. Therefore, the wise should not abide in existence and non-existence. Here it is said: How does one fall into the views of permanence and annihilation? Here it is explained: Whatever has an essence, it cannot be non-existent, therefore it is permanent. To say that something that existed before does not exist now, then one falls into the view of annihilation. Whatever is inherently existent, it is unreasonable for it to become non-existent later, because inherent nature does not change, therefore, from the viewpoint of regarding it as existent, one falls into the view of permanence. If something existed before, and now it is said that it does not exist, thus regarding the existing object as destroyed, then one falls into the view of annihilation. Therefore, because regarding things as existent and regarding them as non-existent both become faults, it is said that things have no inherent nature, which is the correct view, the Middle Way, and by which the ultimate truth is accomplished. The examination of things and the non-existence of things is called the fifteenth chapter. Here it is said: Without a basis, samsara and nirvana, bondage and liberation are never possible, so what will actions, sentient beings in samsara, nirvana, bondage, and liberation become? By what reasoning...
