That is not reasonable. Here it is said: depending on firewood is fire, and depending on fire is also firewood, therefore firewood and fire are established as interdependent. Here it is said: If wood depends on fire, if fire depends on wood, then which of the fire and wood that are depended upon is established first? If relying on firewood is fire, and relying on fire is firewood, then relying on what does it become fire, or become firewood, which of the two is established first? If one thinks that firewood is established first, and relying on it is fire, then it should be explained: If wood depends on fire, then it will become establishing what is already established. If firewood is established first, and relying on it is fire, if that is the case, then it will become establishing what is already established. Furthermore, for the wood to be burned, it will also become without fire. In that case, firewood will also become without fire. This is not desirable, therefore, the statement that fire and firewood are interdependent is not reasonable. Here it is said that even if none of them are established first, interdependence itself can be established. Here it is said: If a thing is established by relying, and also relying on that thing itself, what is relied upon is established, relying on what does what become established? If the thing to be established is established by relying on other things, and also relying on the thing to be established itself, the other thing that is relied upon is established, then, in Tibetan language, then relying on what does what become established that one wants to establish? Furthermore, what is established by relying on things, if that is not established, how to rely? If it is already established then rely, then it should not rely. If something is said to be established by relying on other things, if that thing is not established and does not exist, how to rely? How to rely on that which is not established and does not exist? If one thinks that what is already established relies on others, that is also unreasonable, because it is meaningless for a thing that is already established and exists to rely on others for the sake of being established, therefore it is unreasonable. That which is already established and exists should not rely on others. Furthermore,

Furthermore, fire dependent on wood does not exist, and fire independent of wood also does not exist. Wood dependent on fire does not exist, and wood independent of fire also does not exist. Therefore, having first applied reason in this way, and examining it as it truly is, fire dependent on firewood does not exist, because non-existence and the establishment or non-establishment of firewood are not suitable for dependence. Fire independent of firewood also does not exist, because being independent of others, and arising from the cause of burning, and constantly burning would be a fault. Now, firewood dependent on fire also does not exist, because the establishment or non-establishment of fire and firewood are not suitable for dependence. Firewood independent of fire also does not exist, because without fire and not being burned, it will not become firewood. Furthermore, fire does not come from elsewhere, and there is no fire in wood either. Fire does not come from elsewhere; examining coming from elsewhere, it is not suitable to come with or without firewood. There is also no fire in firewood, because it is not visible, and the effort would become meaningless, and by measuring what has gone and what has not gone, similarly, the remaining explanations are shown for firewood. Through those methods, similarly, it should be understood that the remaining explanations are shown for firewood. Through which methods? Through the methods of what has gone, what has not gone, and measuring, just as what has gone, what has not gone, and measuring and not going, similarly, for firewood that has been burned, not burned, and is being burned, there is also no burning. Just as there is no effort of going for what has gone, what has not gone, and measuring, similarly, for firewood that has been burned, not burned, and is being burned, there is also no effort of burning. Just as the goer and the non-goer, and the one who is going and the one who is not going do not go, similarly, the burner and the non-burner, and the one who is burning and the one who is not burning also do not burn. Similarly, the remaining ones should also be shown. Furthermore, wood itself is not fire, and there is no fire apart from wood. Fire is not connected with wood, there is no wood in fire, there is no wood there. For the moment, the firewood itself is not fire, because the fault of the agent and the action being the same.
