Furthermore, if one causes the unarisen to arise, then all those things that are unarisen would necessarily become arisen. For example, the bodhicitta unarisen in all the lives of individual children would necessarily arise; for arhats who possess the quality of non-regression, the afflictions that have not arisen would necessarily arise; and things like rabbit horns and horse horns that have not arisen would necessarily arise, which is undesirable. Therefore, one does not cause the unarisen to arise, just as one does not cause afflictions to arise after they have been burned. Here it is said: The unarisen can be caused to arise, and that is when it is caused to arise by the aggregation of causes and conditions, and by possessing place, time, agent, and method; but not all unarisen things are caused to arise, because those that lack the aggregation of causes and conditions, place, time, agent, and method are not caused to arise. Therefore, it does not follow that all unarisen things will arise. Here it is explained: That which is caused to arise by the aggregation of causes and conditions, and by possessing place, time, agent, and method, even that which has become existent is not caused to arise. That which has become non-existent is also not caused to arise. That which has become both existent and non-existent is also not caused to arise, because it has already been explained in detail that it is not appropriate to cause to arise in any of these three ways. Therefore, the unarisen is also not caused to arise. Similarly, an object that is in the process of arising is also not caused to arise. Why? Because it would follow that there would be the fault of causing what has already arisen to arise, and the fault of causing what has not arisen to arise. That which is arising that is already arisen is not caused to arise by the reasons previously stated, and that which is arising that is not yet arisen is also not caused to arise by the reasons previously stated. Furthermore, if that which is arising does not arise, but still causes to arise, then because that which is arising without arising has not been seen, therefore that which is arising does not cause to arise. For that which causes that which is arising to arise, it would follow that there are two arisings: that by which that which is arising becomes that which is arising, and that which causes that which is arising to arise. Falling into two arisings

of the kind, because the two of arisen things are not established. Therefore, what is arising is not caused to arise either. Even before the commencement of arising, there is no arising where the arising will commence, because if there is no commencement of arising, then there is no arising either, therefore what is arising is not caused to arise. Thus, since what has arisen, what has not arisen, and what is arising are not caused to arise, arising is not completely established. If arising is not completely established, then abiding and disintegration are also not completely established. If arising, abiding, and disintegration are not completely established, then conditioned things are also not completely established. Thus, those that are gone, not gone, and measured should be understood as being explained separately. Here it is said: depending on arising, it is called arising, this thought considers that arising is caused to arise. Here it is said: When existence is present, when this arising does not occur, how, relying on arising, is it said to be arising? When existence is present, this arising occurs, when there is no such thing, how, relying on arising, is it said to be arising? Also, others: Whatever is dependent arising, that is by nature pacified, therefore the nature of arising, arising is also the nature of pacification. Thus, whatever arises dependently, its nature is pacified, therefore, the nature of arising and arising are also pacified. Here it is said, in the distinction of the three times, the future thing exists by its future nature, therefore it will arise. Here it is said: If a thing is unborn, somewhere it exists, why does it arise there? If it exists, it will not arise. If an unborn thing exists at some time in the future, why will it arise at that time in the present? If it exists there, because it already exists, it will not arise here now. If you want it to arise, then it should be explained like this: if that thing arises here, then that thing will not exist at that time in the future, but this is not desired. Therefore, saying that the future thing exists and will arise, that is also
