If the fruit arises without a cause, if the cause has ceased and there is a fruit, then the cause will always change. The cause that was born before will also be born again, which is a mistake. How can the fruit be born from the extinct and destroyed? How can the cause connected with the fruit be born even if it remains? If the cause and effect are not related, what fruit will it produce? The cause does not produce fruit whether it is seen or not. The past fruit and the past cause, the unborn and the born, the meeting together will never happen. The born fruit and the unborn cause, the past and the born, the meeting together will never happen. The unborn fruit and the born cause, the unborn and the past, the meeting together will never happen. If there is no meeting, how does the cause produce the fruit? Even if there is a meeting, how does the cause produce the fruit? If the cause is empty of fruit, how does it produce fruit? If the cause is not empty of fruit, how does it produce fruit? The fruit that is not empty will not be born, and the non-empty will not be destroyed. The non-empty is also unborn. How can emptiness be born, and how can emptiness be destroyed? Emptiness is also indestructible and unborn. Cause and effect are never the same. Cause and effect are never different. If cause and effect are the same, the producer and the produced become one. If cause and effect are different, cause and non-cause are the same. If the fruit has its own nature, what does the cause produce? If the fruit has no nature, what does the cause produce? If it is not a producer, then the cause cannot be established. If the cause is not established, whose fruit will it be? Whatever is the collection of causes and conditions, if the self cannot produce itself, how does it produce the fruit? Therefore, there is no action by the collection, and there is no action by the non-collection.

There is no fruit of the ground. If there is no fruit, Where would there be a collection of causes? This is called the examination of aggregates, the twentieth chapter. Is destruction without arising? It is not the case that they exist together. Is arising without destruction? It is not the case that they exist together. If destruction is without arising, How could it exist? Without birth, there will be death. Destruction does not exist without arising. Destruction and arising together, How could it exist? Death and birth at the same time, It is not the case that they exist. If arising is without destruction, How could it exist? The impermanence of things, Is never absent. Arising and destruction together, How could it exist? Birth and death at the same time, It is not the case that they exist. Those that are together with each other, Not together with each other, Establishment is not existence, How do those establishments exist? Arising does not exist in the exhausted. Arising does not exist in the unexhausted either. Destruction does not exist in the exhausted. Destruction does not exist in the unexhausted either. If things are not existent, Arising and destruction are not existent. If arising and destruction are non-existent, Then things are not existent. For emptiness, arising and destruction, It is not reasonable. For non-emptiness, arising and destruction, It is not reasonable. Arising and destruction, Being one is not reasonable. Arising and destruction, Being other is also not reasonable. Arising and destruction, If you think you see them in your mind, Arising and destruction, Are seen by ignorance. Things do not arise from things, Things do not arise from non-things. Non-things do not arise from non-things, Non-things do not arise from things. Things do not arise from themselves, Nor do they arise from others. Arising from self and other, If it is not existent, how can it arise? If you assert that things exist, You will fall into the view of permanence and annihilation, Because that thing, Will become permanent and impermanent. Even if you assert that things exist, It will not become annihilation, nor will it become permanent, Because the fruit is the arising and destruction of the cause, That continuum is existence. The fruit is the arising and destruction of the cause, That continuum is existence.
