Following faith means engaging with things as being this or that through trust and steadfastness. Following the Dharma means engaging without dependence on individuals, but by understanding the very reality of things, and that is the difference between them. Therefore, even without a distinction of objects, by focusing on desire, one makes things into objects, and by focusing on Suchness, one makes things into objects, as it is said: Form is emptiness. (གཟུགས་ཉིད་སྟོང་པའོ།,रूपं शून्य,rūpaṃ śūnya,Form is emptiness) Emptiness is form. (སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་ཁོ་ན་གཟུགས་སོ།,शून्यता एव रूपं,śūnyatā eva rūpaṃ,Emptiness is form) This is a brief indication. Emptiness is not other than form. (གཟུགས་ལས་སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་གཞན་མ་ཡིན་ནོ།,रूपान् न पृथक् शून्यता,rūpān na pṛthak śūnyatā,Emptiness is not other than form) Form is not other than emptiness. (སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་ལས་གཟུགས་གཞན་མ་ཡིན་ནོ་,शून्यताया न पृथग् रूपं,śūnyatāyā na pṛthag rūpaṃ,Form is not other than emptiness) This is a detailed explanation. To this, someone temporarily accepts that the destruction of form is emptiness, to which the answer is: Form is emptiness. (གཟུགས་ཉིད་སྟོང་པའོ།,रूपं शून्य,rūpaṃ śūnya,Form is emptiness) Emptiness is not other than form. (གཟུགས་ལས་སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་གཞན་མ་ཡིན་ནོ།,रूपान् न पृथक् शून्यता,rūpān na pṛthak śūnyatā,Emptiness is not other than form) This is because the other-powered nature, the non-veridical imputation, is empty of inherent existence due to the duality of imputation. The duality that ceases in a non-existent manner is emptiness, which is the very nature of form. And someone says: The Dharmadhatu is transformed by forms and so on that go into self-nature, like an illusion. The answer to that is: Emptiness is form. (སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་ཁོ་ན་གཟུགས་སོ།,शून्यता एव रूपं,śūnyatā eva rūpaṃ,Emptiness is form) Emptiness is not other than form. (སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་ལས་གཟུགས་གཞན་མ་ཡིན་ནོ་,शून्यताया न पृथग् रूपं,śūnyatāyā na pṛthag rūpaṃ,Emptiness is not other than form) That form, which is other-powered, is emptiness itself, the nature of the Dharmadhatu. If that were the case, if there were blue and so on, which are superior to the Dharmadhatu and have not abandoned their own essence, then the blue and so on would directly contradict each other in the Dharmadhatu, just like a variegated cloth. If the Dharmadhatu were also harmed by the contradiction of one and many, it would become conventional. However, blue and so on have not obtained an essence. The explanation for this is: Emptiness is not other than form. (སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་ལས་གཟུགས་གཞན་མ་ཡིན་ནོ་,शून्यताया न पृथग् रूपं,śūnyatāyā na pṛthag rūpaṃ,Emptiness is not other than form) The term "other" means that, because the nature of mind is luminosity, blue and so on, which have the nature of objects apart from one's own essence. Because it abandons its own essence and appears similar to it, the contradiction related to one's own essence should not be applied to the Dharmadhatu. The statement about this is: In consciousness, there are various appearances such as blue and so on, consciousness is

They are not other. Those that cannot be seen will enter into the meaning of discernment. Like this, just as it is suitable, through the complete understanding of small connections and the study of completely certain understandings, it is not elaborated here. Therefore, through this, the characteristics of emptiness, which are devoid of superimposition and slander, will be manifestly shown. Among them, this is the superimposition of existence on form, and also the superimposition on emptiness as the nature of preventing it, whatever is the nature of apprehended conceptualization, firstly, form itself is emptiness. Form is not other than emptiness, thus it is eliminated. Whatever, like form, is affirmed as conventional in the realm of phenomena, thereby slandering the existence of ultimate truth, or because one's own essence is unsuitable as a conventional essence and is not ultimate, thereby affirming non-existence and slandering, that is the superimposition of grasping form in the manner of things, the latter is what makes the realm of phenomena suitable for not being things such as form, emptiness itself is form. Form is not other than emptiness, thus it is eliminated. Therefore, the antidotes to superimposition and slander, in order, are abandoning the conceptualizations of grasping and holding, with the belief in warmth and the peak as objects of mind, and in forbearance, it is the nature of abandoning the conceptualization of grasping, and in the highest mundane dharma, it is the nature of abandoning the conceptualization of holding, it should be known that only that is made the object of mind. Because the Madhyamikas, regarding their own awareness, in the way of directly grasping blue and so on, because it contradicts oneness, therefore they make it suitable that it does not exist in ultimate truth. Otherwise, because the sign is not established, the manifest intention of those will not be established. Therefore, even if they intend that those do not exist in ultimate truth, they also intend to grasp them as existing in conventional truth. Some also acknowledge that in conventional truth, their own awareness has the aspects of grasping and holding. Therefore, from the perspective of Madhyamika, this is the refutation of the grasped object that is so acknowledged in conventional truth. The path of seeing is shown by Shariputra in this way, from 'thus' until 'without satisfaction'.
