is a distinction of time. Millions of kalpas are also trillions. That is also combined with the word "hundred thousand." If one wishes to know that, in order to show the distinction of praising the Dharma, "Subhuti" and so on are spoken. This category of Dharma is called "inconceivable," which is extremely profound, the characteristic of all dharmas being without inherent existence. It is taught here because the Tathagatas realize it individually and others, such as the Shravakas, cannot conceive it. "Incomparable" means that such a form has not been shown elsewhere, so there is nothing equal to or particularly superior to this. Because this has neither equal nor superior, it shows that an inconceivable result arises from an inconceivable cause. If one wonders how it is incomparable, it is said, "Entering the excellent vehicle." Extremely gone beyond is called excellent, so it is said, "This category of Dharma of the Shravakas, etc." The term "supreme vehicle" means, is it the vehicle of the supreme ones? That is both a vehicle and supreme, thus combining the words. Those who have truly entered there are called that. Similarly, "entering the excellent vehicle" is also consistent, and those two belong to the category of names. The intention of showing the categories is to benefit the beings to be tamed, because some will change. Others say that it is supreme in relation to other vehicles. It is excellent because all defilements and obscurations of knowledge are completely purified. Or supreme is sacred. If one thinks that the vehicle of the Pratyekabuddhas is also sacred in relation to the vehicle of the Shravakas, it is said, "Entering the excellent vehicle." Extremely surpassing is called excellent. Among many vehicles such as the Shravakas, this is extremely surpassing, so the word "excellent" is mentioned here, and that is the Mahayana itself. Because the Shravakas and others are not vessels for such a Dharma teaching, it is spoken for the sake of the Bodhisattvas. Therefore,

Categories of Dharma It has been proven that this is unparalleled. The saying "Thus Gone One said" is because it is not another's realm. The phrase "this category of Dharma" and so on, thoroughly proves the meanings as stated before and concludes, and it shows the distinction of praise for accomplishing this. Because this category of Dharma is inconceivable and immeasurable, therefore, its ripening result is also inconceivable. Therefore, whoever holds this category of Dharma and so on, is a concluding statement that has been established. "Immeasurable" refers to the teachings. The remainder is explanation. Among them, "inconceivable" means beyond the realm of thought, showing that it cannot be inferred. "Unparalleled" means without equal. "Immeasurable" means that even if all sentient beings are tamed, it cannot be measured. "Limitless" means that even with great lands and so on, it cannot be measured, because it is greater than the sky. Or, all of these belong to the category. The saying "all those sentient beings will become bearers of my enlightenment on their shoulders" means bearing the burden of enlightenment, like carrying it on the shoulder, which is a concluding statement. All of this indicates that one should completely abandon tasting the bliss of meditation, and abide in longing and aspiration for fully embracing the Dharma, which is the cause of perfecting wisdom. Why does the Blessed One only speak for those who have correctly entered the supreme vehicle, and not for others? Does anyone think that the Blessed One also has hatred and desire? They asked why this was, and the answer was, Subhuti, it is due to faith in the inferior, and so on. This shows that the Blessed One cherishes all sentient beings like an only child, so there is no hatred or desire, however, for those who become vessels, it is taught at that time, and not at other times. If it were not so, then the all-knowing Blessed One would become not all-knowing, that is what is to be expressed. "Inferior ones" and so on refers to Hearers and

I, as spoken by the Buddhas. Those with views such as 'I' are the outsiders. 'That is without a place' means that there is no opportunity for that. How can ordinary people hear what even the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas cannot hear? How can they accept and fully understand what they cannot hear? That is impossible. This is a concluding statement. This leads into the equal entering of yoga. If that is the case, how can the noble Subhuti hear this Dharma discourse? It is through the blessing of the Bhagavan, so there is no fault. Among all lands, wherever this sutra is taught, only that place should be praised. To show the distinction of offerings made by gods and others, 'Subhuti' and so on were spoken again. Previously, it was spoken to sever attachment to external scriptures, and now it is spoken to sever attachment to the bliss of meditation, so the words are not repeated. Know that it is not to be considered repetition, as it merely expresses the meaning of encompassing everything, and because it is expressed in different contexts. 'Worthy of offerings' means with umbrellas, victory banners, and flags, etc. 'Worthy of prostration' means should be prostrated to. 'Worthy of circumambulation' means should be circumambulated. Therefore, possessing qualities such as being worthy of offerings, it is a stupa. If someone thinks that even those who are so diligent in this Dharma discourse seem to suffer hardships, then relying on the excellence of purifying sins, 'Subhuti, any son or daughter of good family' and so on were spoken. 'Will be afflicted' means being harmed by scolding, exposing faults, and so on. 'Will be completely afflicted' means being harmed by killing, imprisoning, and so on. If someone thinks, how could such great Bodhisattvas suffer hardships? Therefore, the question was asked, 'For what reason is that?' and the answer was given, 'It is like this, those sentient beings' and so on. 'Of former lives' means those done in former lives. 'In this very life' means what is happening now.
