Whatever is clung to, because form and other things do not exist, it does not exist in the ultimate sense. Therefore, the concluding word "therefore" indicates that here one abides in the second view. Like the word "giving" before, here too it is considered to be all six perfections. To counteract the second basis of intolerance, "Subhuti" and others are also spoken of. What is the importance of all this? Even if a Bodhisattva is willing to engage in the practice of the extremely difficult perfections for the sake of someone, but those sentient beings do not exist in the ultimate sense, and the perception of them as sentient beings does not exist in the ultimate sense, then how can they be weary of causing such sentient beings to fall into error? This is completely revealed. By negating sentient beings and the perception of them, both kinds of selflessness are spoken of. "For the sake of all sentient beings" indicates the vastness here. All the rest indicates the profound. Having thus shown that it is reasonable to endure with reason for a while, now, in order to show that it is also reasonable to endure with faith in the Tathagata, "truly spoken" and so on are spoken. The first is the showing. The rest is the explanation. Or the four truths are shown. Apply in order. Or "truly spoken" is showing what is to be attained. The so-called "Tathagata" is showing the reason, that is, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have abandoned the two obscurations of affliction and knowledge, the Tathagata is the one who has gone and come like that, so he is the Tathagata. Therefore, it is truly and without error spoken, because there is no cause for inverted appearance - obscuration, so it is established that the cause is not seen. If someone thinks: How can it be established that this is only the Tathagata? Therefore, "speaking the truth" is spoken. The so-called truth, that is, the way of speaking the nature of the four noble truths, therefore, that must be the Tathagata. The extremely hidden meaning is impossible to show truly in all ways, as it is said: The method-born and its cause, it is very difficult to speak of the hidden. Just as it is said like this. If someone thinks: How do you know that speaking the truth is true?

It is called "Thus Spoken." Because it speaks of the true nature of things as they are, without reversing them, it is called "Speaking of Suchness." Because it speaks of what should be abandoned and what should be accepted, and how they exist with skillful means, it will not become untrue speech. Even if it has become so, does that mean that the four truths it reveals still exist as they are? To this, it is said, "It is not a reversed speech." Because it is not reversed, it speaks with a complete measure, and does not speak of things that are harmed by measure, therefore it is true, this is the concluding remark. All of these establish the Bhagavan as a measure by the logic of the result. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures: "The protector has completely and truly shown, establishing the wisdom with distinction." From the perspective of ultimate truth, since even one nature of things cannot be established, it is difficult to establish even one truth, let alone observe the four truths? Speaking of the four truths will become true speech. For example, if the Bhagavan says that the five aggregates are like illusions, how can its nature become the truth of suffering? Suffering is also false in ultimate truth,

Furthermore, the Hearers, in order to abandon the manifest clinging to self, teach the Four Noble Truths with only the aspect of the selflessness of the person, and since it is not for the sake of all beings, there is no contradiction. Moreover, what is the difference between giving alms while fixating on the body and so forth and striving for it, and not fixating on anything and not striving for it? Regarding this thought, this is the antidote to the third basis of intolerance, as it is said, for example, "like." If one clings only to the happiness of the nature of things such as the body, existence, and enjoyment, and strives for it, then giving alms while falling into that is like a person entering darkness; even if one has eyes, one cannot see the truth of things, because one does not understand what should be abandoned and what should be accepted, so one falls into inverted things, becoming the place of all suffering. Therefore, the Bodhisattva will completely degenerate from the great bliss of enjoyment. Because they do not possess this ability, they are afflicted by suffering like the Hearers and so forth, and turn away from enlightenment. If one gives alms without clinging to things, without fixating on things such as the body, and without striving for it, then it is like a person with eyes who sees because there are various forms, and having seen, completely abandons what should be abandoned and takes what should be taken. Regarding this, someone doubts, "Even if the sun rises, will a hundred people not see?" Therefore, it is said, "After the sun has risen." Someone also thinks, "Even if the sun rises, if all the houses and so forth are dark, one will not see!" Therefore, it is said, "It has dawned." The word "it has dawned" refers to darkness, so it means "on the side without darkness." Even if these conditions are met, someone doubts, "If one is blind, one will not see even on a hundred paths!" Therefore, it is said, "one who has eyes," and the Bodhisattva who does not cling to things should be viewed in this way. That is, the darkness of ignorance has dawned, the sun of wisdom has risen, and one sees the various objects of knowledge exactly as they are, the inverted things, the place of all suffering, the abandonment of suffering.
