It should be done. This eliminates the extreme of slander, because one does not slander the Form Body of the Bhagavan in conventional truth. The signless should be viewed in ultimate truth, because no sign is established. This eliminates the extreme of superimposition. Praying to attain the Form Body of the Tathagata expresses vastness. That which is unapprehendable is profound. The place for desiring to attain the Form Body has been explained. The Dharma Body is of two types: the Dharma Body of explanation and the Dharma Body of realization. The Dharma Body of realization is also of two types: that with the cause of wisdom and that with the cause of merit. Among these, because future beings will have a greater share of the five degenerations, and because such a precious Dharma has extremely profound and vast results, fearing that they might not believe in the Dharma Body of explanation, he asked, "Does it exist?" The phrase "Does it exist?" is connected with the meaning of the phrase, "Will there be any sentient beings who will generate correct understanding of the Dharma of the sutras when it is taught?" The term "final five hundred" means a collection of five hundreds, which is five hundred. Because it is said that the Bhagavan's teachings will remain for five hundred sets of five hundred years, it is specifically called "final" because the five degenerations are prevalent at that time. The complete destruction of the sacred Dharma refers to the decline of faith, reading, recitation, upholding, teaching, listening, thinking, and so on. "Like this" refers to something with profound and vast meaning. "Words of the sutras" refers to the words that teach the sutras, because these allow one to realize and understand the meaning. Merely mentioning the names completely reveals all the Dharma Bodies of explanation. Alternatively, the words of the sutras are the concluding words to be spoken. In this explanation, "like this" is connected with "profound and vast." "For the explanations" means, according to the first way, for the things said. According to the second way, it is the concluding words for those that show the meaning. Understanding the meaning without inversion is what is meant here by correct understanding.

One should not cling to the literal meaning, thinking, "This is correct." This eliminates the notion that meaning is established but not correct. Because of knowing everything without obstruction, the Blessed One sees what will happen as if it were directly apparent, and says "will happen" in order to dispel the doubts of Subhuti (Rabjor). The term "Great Bodhisattva" is spoken to correctly show the qualities of those Bodhisattvas. The Blessed One fully reveals how they practice, with what cause they truly practice, how they are endowed with the complete support of virtuous friends, and with what correct understanding they come to understand. The phrase "endowed with morality, endowed with qualities, endowed with wisdom" refers to higher morality, higher mind, and higher wisdom, in that order, showing that they are endowed with the practice of the three trainings. The qualities mentioned separately from morality and wisdom here refer to those arising from meditation, like the case of a cow and a yak. For those afflicted in the degenerate age, one might wonder how such people could possess qualities like morality. Therefore, "Subhuti" and so on are spoken. Serving with reverence means serving with reverence with clothes and food, and making offerings with umbrellas, banners, and flags. Generating roots of virtue means taking the instructions and following teachings upon one's head, and observing by striving to possess the complete qualities of morality and so on. To explain that they accumulate even more merit than that, "hundreds of thousands of Buddhas" is mentioned, which shows that they truly accomplish the cause. "The Tathagata knows them" refers to their thoughts and names. "The Tathagata sees them" refers to their bodies. This shows being supported by virtuous friends. This is also said to make those who have entered correctly rejoice, and to make those who have entered wrongly feel ashamed. If it were not so, since the Blessed One is omniscient, he should have said "omniscient."
