And change. Therefore, this connection can only be fully understood by foolish wisdom. It is also not a connection of cause and effect, because happiness and so on appear to arise gradually. For a complete cause, it is unreasonable for the result to sometimes appear or not appear, because there is no difference. Or others cannot make a difference. How can a subject with all its power rely on a co-acting cause to arise gradually? There is no dependence on co-action. Therefore, if it is bound because it is the cause of producing suffering, then it will always be bound and will not be liberated, because it will not completely abandon that nature. If it is completely abandoned, how can it be permanent? If it is liberated because it is the cause of producing a state without suffering, then it will be liberated, and if it will never be bound, then how can one observe the bondage and liberation with a basis? Similarly, if one is the agent because one is the nature of mind, etc., or is able to produce, then one will always be the agent, and how will one be the eater? Or if one is the eater because one is the cause of producing happiness, etc., then one will be the eater, and how will one be the agent? The unchanging happiness, etc., observed by the Samkhya school, like the sky, is also not reasonable as an eater, because it is too extreme. If it changes, then permanence is lost. Merely as a cause, one will not become an agent and an eater, because it is too extreme. Similarly, the rememberer, etc., should also be added that it should not become its basis. Therefore, only the sect that speaks of no-self can reasonably establish liberation and bondage, etc., because that establishment is only distinguished by the difference between cause and effect. The things of cause and effect can only exist on impermanent things, and not on permanent things, because they do not have the power to gradually produce any result, as mentioned above. It is also not produced simultaneously, and it is the same way again.

Because it follows the nature of the power to produce fruit, it should not be like before, not producing fruit. If it does not follow, then the previous nature will disappear. There is no other way to function except sequentially and simultaneously, because these two are mutually exclusive natures. Precisely because of this, whatever is not momentary, such as the other things that are completely observed by space, etc., all of those are the objects of being labeled as non-existent because they have no ability to function, this is what great scholars like Buddhagupta say. The reason for establishing rabbit horns, etc. as non-existent is also because of the mere lack of the ability to function. By the way, what is established as existent is the very realm of being able to function. Because existence and non-existence are mutually exclusive natures. If, like that, even for things that are empty of all abilities, like rabbit horns, etc., without distinction, are also given the name "thing", then there is no dispute over names. However, those who have the understanding of meaningless desire say that it is unreasonable to establish as "thing" for things that are like that, with an invisible nature, without distinction from the son of a barren woman, etc. Therefore, the unestablished reason is not. For space, etc., it will also become the fault of the agent, so the uncertain is also not. Existing in accordance with the tenet, so the contradictory is also not. Because there is no other nature of self, so it is like the son of a barren woman. If the person perishes, then it will be included in the aggregates, because the aggregates have included all conditioned phenomena. If it is not perished, then at this time it is not the same as the dharmas belonging to the aggregates, so it becomes a different thing from that, that fault has already been said. Therefore, there is no such thing as the unspeakable, therefore all dharmas are without self, the lion's roar of the Bhagavan, making all the herds of heretical elephants terrified, and without trampling, so there is no need to say more.

While engaging in the practice of giving as a perfection, he spoke the words "and so forth." That should be regarded as the nature of two kinds of words, general and specific. The giving of a Bodhisattva, giving is to be given, but it is not to abide in things, that is a concluding word. This "giving" refers to the three kinds of giving, showing all six perfections, not just mere giving. Among them, material giving shows the perfection of giving. Giving of fearlessness is the perfection of morality and patience. Giving of Dharma is the perfection of diligence, meditation, and wisdom. If there is no diligence, one will be completely weary of upholding and teaching the Dharma, and will not teach the Dharma. If there is no meditation, because one wants to do something more excellent than faith, one will become a teacher of afflictions. If there is no wisdom, then one will teach it in a reversed way. Therefore, if all three are not present, the giving of Dharma will not be accomplished. Others explain that diligence is all-pervasive. 'Giving is to be given,' this shows how to abide in the six perfections through aspiration and prayer. 'Not abiding in things,' and so forth, shows how to accomplish through the samadhi of yoga. 'A Bodhisattva should give in that way,' and so forth, shows how to hold the mind by stopping distraction. Among them, not abiding in things shows the state of being as it is when practicing the perfections. If a Bodhisattva clings to things such as the object of giving, the giver, and the receiver, that is abiding. If a Bodhisattva clings to things and practices the perfections, that is a wrong practice. Because in the ultimate truth, there is nothing to cling to, so one will cling in a reversed way. Because there is no valid cognition to establish it, and there is harm. For example, others think that distinguishing the meaning of things and
