It is so. What is said as "giving alms" is merely a widespread term. Here, by the nature of giving, all six perfections are summarized by making them subject to the three types of giving. Material giving is the perfection. Fearless giving is the perfection of discipline and the perfection of patience. Dharma giving is the perfection of diligence, meditation, and wisdom. If there is no diligence, one becomes weary of upholding and teaching the Dharma, so one does not teach the Dharma. If there is no meditation, one cannot endure cold and heat by merely wanting to be controlled by faith, and one only shows affliction. If there is no wisdom, one teaches perversely, and it is said that one will degenerate from what one has learned. If these three are not lacking, then it is a perfect Dharma giving. These perfections also have two types of fruits: future fruits and fruits of the visible Dharma. The future fruit of the perfection of giving is great enjoyment. The perfection of discipline results in a perfect body, such as that of Indra or Brahma. The perfection of patience results in a large following and retinue. The perfection of diligence results in the uninterrupted continuation of enjoyment and so on. The perfection of meditation results in the accomplishment of harmlessness. The perfection of wisdom results in all faculties being sharp and comfortable, with much mental ease, and the ability to rule over a large assembly of people. The fruit of the visible Dharma is that all have more faith, and one attains Nirvana in this very life. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva gives alms while seeking the fruit of future giving, then giving is giving that abides in things, because it abides in the object of giving and in the object of such fruit. Therefore, it is said that one gives alms without abiding in things. Alternatively, if one gives alms while seeking the fruit of future discipline and so on, then giving is giving that abides in something. Therefore, it is said that one gives alms without abiding in anything. Discipline, etc.

Since there is no difference in the abundance of fruits (of giving), the sound of "whatever" is uttered. Or, since one is pursuing the attainment of the fruit of the visible Dharma through faith, if one gives, it is giving while abiding in form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Therefore, it is said, "Not abiding in form," and so on. Or, since one is pursuing Nirvana through the visible Dharma, if one gives, it is giving while abiding in Dharma. Therefore, it is said, "Giving without abiding in Dharma." What is expressed by saying "One should give" is the desire and aspiration for giving. The "non-abiding" in "giving without abiding" is itself the establishment of the ultimate truth. Among them, "non-abiding" itself fully clarifies the ultimate truth that should be cultivated as it is. Non-abiding in things and so on is itself cultivating as much as possible. Therefore, it is said, "The Bodhisattva even gives without abiding in characteristics." "Non-abiding" means showing the pacification of distraction when entering into yoga, that is, at that time, not abiding in characteristics. Thus, for a Bodhisattva who is practicing non-abiding, some are without joy because of relying on merit, or some are pursuing meaning with joy, thereby fully showing the great accumulation of merit of giving without abiding, which is equal to space in three ways. By pervading everything, whether abiding or not abiding, it is in accordance with the arising of merit. By being vast, it is due to the distinction of excellence. By being inexhaustible, it is due to boundless giving. Again, as a basis for desiring to obtain the Form Body: "Subhuti, what do you think? Can the Tathagata be viewed by means of the perfection of signs?" Among them, in terms of meaning, it shows that clinging to the Form Body and manifesting the Tathagata is a contradictory aspect. If one fully grasps the position of what kind of virtuous friend, that is, in what way? The Venerable Subhuti replied, "No, it is not."

The Bhagavan's exposition is: Subhuti, as much as there are perfect marks, that much is false, which refers to aspiration and wish. The meaning here is to show the establishment of the ultimate truth, in the ultimate truth, having perfect marks is false, not having perfect marks is not false. Thus, viewing the Tathagata as having marks and not having marks, this refers to the correct instruction to cut off the distraction of entering into samadhi in yoga, that is, at this time, one should view all marks as non-marks. In order to obtain the Dharmakaya of the teachings, as the basis of aspiration, will any sentient beings generate such a realization? It refers to the ultimate words of the sutra section that have such a reason. Among them, the sentences of the sutra section should be understood as those that will be explained. What kind of sentences? That is, the sentences of the seven meanings that are said. The Venerable Subhuti, expounded on the arising itself of the Bodhisattvas who will generate realization in the future. After negating that they will not arise, the Bhagavan said that they will arise, and at the same time, it should also be understood that the destruction of the Dharma is also the complete destruction of practice. In those Dharmas, how to practice? With what kind of cause does it completely arise, merely proclaiming the cause of having perfect marks, is to completely reveal the Rupakaya of the Tathagata, which is related to completely upholding merit. With what kind of correct realization will sentient beings arise? The Bhagavan has completely revealed it. Having discipline, having qualities, having wisdom, refers to the complete exposition of the practice of the three trainings such as higher discipline. Mentioning qualities refers to the samadhi that is preceded by qualities such as having few desires. To many hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, they will serve and make offerings, this is the complete proclamation of the arising with a vast cause. For wholeheartedly believing, a brief explanation has also been made.
