I am for the sake of the meaning of praise, and for the sake of making the pure superior intention extremely joyful. Bodhisattvas are great because of the seven kinds of greatness, therefore they are called heart heroes and great heart heroes. What are the seven kinds of greatness? They are the greatness of Dharma, mind, faith, intention, assembly, time, and universal conduct. It varies according to the different Bodhisattva grounds. Why? Because one has truly entered the Bodhisattva vehicle. It is said that the Venerable Subhuti asked appropriately, having surpassed the differences of the three kinds of enlightenment. After granting "Well done," the statement "As many beings as I gather, I will gather" shows the general characteristic. The so-called egg-born, etc., shows the specific characteristic. It should be understood from the difference of the mentioned birth and place. Egg, womb, moisture, and transformation are the differences of birth. Having form or being formless is the difference of place. Having perception or not having perception, neither having nor not having perception is the difference of grasping objects. How many realms of beings are established as nominal, this is to definitely show the stage of the above two aspects, the realm of beings is nominally established as Buddha. The so-called completely leading to Nirvana is to seek the meaning of being incapable. In terms of type, it refers to all types such as egg-born as mentioned before, not in terms of quantity. Similarly, because egg-born or moisture-born, etc., having perception and not having perception, neither having nor not having perception are taken as objects, therefore, in order to lead all beings to Nirvana, it should be combined with three causes: those born in unfavorable circumstances are to go to favorable times, those born in favorable circumstances but not yet matured are to be matured, and those who have matured are to be liberated. From where to be liberated? From the Nirvana without remainder.

It is said to be the realm of cessation. It is called non-returning. The Bhagavan also taught Nirvana in various ways, for the purpose of completely abandoning the first dhyana and so on. Even if the Buddhas tame with the form of an illusory person, one should also attain the supreme result. Why is it not said to be in the realm of Nirvana with remainder? This is a common result, because it is the result of one's own previous karma and the Buddha's teachings. Although it is not the only ultimate, it is liberated from the pervasiveness of sentient beings' suffering, therefore Nirvana with remainder is the fruit of the actions of a person, it is a common result, and it is a supreme result. From the result that is not the ultimate, it is also taught that it is called Nirvana without remainder. Thus, even if countless sentient beings completely transmigrate, it completely shows that the various categories of egg-born and so on are countless, meaning that no sentient beings will attain Nirvana. If it is said that the Bodhisattva himself completely attains Nirvana, then there are no sentient beings, what is the reason for this? If a Bodhisattva has attachment to sentient beings, then he should not be called a Bodhisattva. What is the intention? If a Bodhisattva is attached to sentient beings as different, because of attachment to self, then he should not be called a Bodhisattva. What is the intention of being attached to sentient beings, attached to life, or attached to person? For those who are attached to afflicted sentient beings, life, and person, they will also be attached to self, and will also be attached to sentient beings, because the Bodhisattva has abandoned the view of self, so they will not be attached to these. Therefore, because of the similarity of the characteristics of actions, whatever Bodhisattva who believes that self and others are equal will not be attached to sentient beings, life, or person.

Saying "not having views of clinging" is the intention of this (sutra). Saying "do not generate such a mind" completely shows how a Bodhisattva should abide in aspiration and prayer. If a Bodhisattva has the perception of sentient beings, saying "that is not called a Bodhisattva" completely shows how to practice during the time of entering into meditative equipoise in yoga. If one has the perception of sentient beings, or the perception of life, or the perception of a person, saying "that is not called a Bodhisattva" completely shows how to well grasp the mind during the time of cutting off distractions. If a Bodhisattva does not have the perception of sentient beings during the time of entering into meditative equipoise in yoga or during the time of cutting off distractions, then one should know (that) state by such a characteristic. Therefore, thinking "no sentient being will ever be completely liberated from suffering" will become two non-attentions. The aspiration and prayer that have already been mentioned are the characteristics of thoroughly combining with the support that is completely grasped. In other supports, it will definitely arise by relying on aspiration and prayer, etc., so aspiration and prayer, etc., are again extensively explained. It should be understood how the five aspects are combined in those supports above these (aspirations and prayers) are explained in detail, namely from the loss of meaning, the mere name being completely pervasive, making it clear, establishing it, and making it truly seen. The loss of meaning is the unfavorable aspect of the support. The mere name of that support itself comes from being completely pervasive. Aspiration and prayer come from making it clear. The ultimate truth comes from establishing it. Entering into meditative equipoise in yoga and cutting off distractions, etc., come from making it truly manifest. Among them, regarding the support of the perfection of purity, for the time being, it is said that a Bodhisattva gives alms without abiding in things, what is said, its loss of meaning is that abiding itself is an unfavorable aspect, so it is said.
