Furthermore, Manjushri, is it true that you are always the first to arrive at the palace gate in order to behold the Tathagata and so forth? The Blessed One asked. For that reason, the Blessed One added the phrase, "if the rumor is not so." Why do you alone strive so diligently? Because of never being satisfied, and so forth. This shows that one possesses great faith and so forth. In this way, the characteristics of coming with insatiable desire for beholding, prostrating, and making offerings show that faith and diligence are extremely great, that wisdom is great through beholding, that mindfulness and samadhi are great through prostrating, and that everything is great through making offerings. Why do you strive so diligently in beholding and so forth? The Blessed One replied: In this way, I go to behold the Tathagata and to make offerings, also for the sake of all sentient beings. This shows that beholding and so forth are the cause, and the benefit of sentient beings is the result. In this way, if one does not do as in beholding the Tathagata and so forth, no one can benefit sentient beings. If they gradually generate higher knowledge, thereby subduing the minds of sentient beings, generating roots of virtue, and causing them to ripen, then they will be able to benefit sentient beings with the characteristics of benefit and happiness. Among these, benefit refers to guiding to nirvana through the three vehicles. Happiness refers to guiding to the happiness of gods and humans. First guiding to gods and humans, and later guiding to nirvana through the three vehicles. If this is not done, because they have not been freed from the suffering of conditioned existence, they will lack compassion and will not be able to accomplish guidance. Here, the Blessed One wishes to completely abandon this practice. Thus, I am never satisfied with beholding, which shows that one has completely abandoned contentment and not continuously practicing. Coming before the Tathagata for the benefit of sentient beings shows that one has completely abandoned disrespectful behavior, laziness, and practice without compassion.

Abandoned. Those places are the characteristics of conventional truth, which have been shown, because it shows that the mind and actions, etc., are always contemplated by people. Now, O Blessed One, if the path of seeing is shown by seeing the Tathagata and prostrating, etc. That is also the nature of sixteen moments, and those moments are shown in sequence. If, is a synonym for how. How I see is what kind of aspect, and what is that aspect like? It is said to be the aspect of suchness, because it always abides in suchness at all times, and suchness is like the state of not being born, and the state of being born is also like the water of a mirage, because it is not existent. It is also said in the Holy Jewel Box Sutra that the equality of birth and non-birth is suchness. Through that aspect of suchness, the Tathagata should be seen. This shows suchness and the Buddha, both the ground and the abiding, because the aspect is not other than what is to be seen. If it is other, it would not be reasonable to be an aspect. If the Tathagata is to be seen, and you are the seer, because you have the object and the subject, it becomes not seeing in the aspect of suchness. Therefore, it is said by the principle of non-objectification, all phenomena and the Tathagata and I are also non-objectified, and by combining and equilibrating on that, through that way. If so, why? The sound of the Tathagata is because it is well distinguished by realizing the suchness of all phenomena, and the Tathagata is also the aspect of suchness, and Manjushri also saw it that way. If that is the case, then the non-objective union will be accomplished, otherwise if there is an object, then it is not. This is how the Tathagata is seen. Why see others? Because the Tathagata is seen by the power of mindfulness. Precisely for this reason, mindfulness is said to be a branch of the accumulation of enlightenment of the path of seeing. No.

It is also not seeing, because there is non-discriminating wisdom. Why should the Tathagata not be seen in the form body? Because it is like this, being born in the mother's womb, being born in Śāllumbīr, becoming the Tathagata in the Great Bodhi place, and attaining complete enlightenment there? Because all these networks of elaboration are false like the city of Gandharvas, seeing the Tathagata with those aspects is not true seeing. Therefore, it is said, from seeing the Tathagata with the aspect of non-birth, to the aspect of no thing. The meaning of the word "between" is, to see the Tathagata with the aspect of non-birth and the aspect of no thing, connect it like this. If you look at those aspects, how can you see the Tathagata as he is? Here it is said, if the fruit arises, does it arise simultaneously with the cause or at different times? If it is simultaneous, then everything will be recognized at the same time, there is no difference between cause and effect, and the kalpa will also become a moment. If it is at different times, it will also become causeless because it has no power. If it is causeless, then because there is no dependence, it will become the fault of being either permanent or non-existent. Therefore, in the ultimate sense, what is called production is nothing at all. In this way, after showing that the Tathagata should not be seen in the form body, in order to show that he should not be seen in the marks, nor in the auspicious signs, it is said that there is no arising of all kinds in suchness, etc. If the Tathagata is not seen in the form body, then the Sambhogakaya with thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks, the nature of enjoying the fruits of the Mahayana such as Paramitas and Immeasurables, all the uncommon and excellent accumulations, is considered to be the Tathagata, that is how it is thought. Thus, the Lord Maitreya also said: The thirty-two marks of the Muni, the lord of eighty minor marks, with the perfect enjoyment of the Mahayana, this is considered the Sambhogakaya.
