It is shown that dedicating on the ground is unreasonable, such as "With what mind is loving-kindness," and so on. Because the mind of rejoicing and the mind of dedication do not meet; and because the mind that focuses on objects and the object of merit do not meet; and because the one who dedicates and the object to be dedicated do not meet; and because dedication is not truly existent. Regarding the two minds not meeting, it is said: "With what mind does loving-kindness rejoice, and with what mind does one dedicate, that mind has also been exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed," where "that" refers to the mind of rejoicing. "Exhausted" is a brief explanation, and the remainder is a detailed explanation. Cessation is because of complete destruction. Separation is because of non-abiding. Transformation is because of non-re-arising. "What is the mind" means there is nothing at all. Because at that time there is no self-nature. Regarding the absence of the mind that focuses on objects, etc., it is said: "What is that mind again," etc., where "that mind" refers to the exhaustion of holding onto things like merit. The object of merit is also said to be exhausted. "What" refers to what has become karma. Regarding the non-meeting of the one who dedicates and the object to be dedicated, it is said: "How can the mind dedicate with the mind?" Regarding how it cannot, it is said: "When the two minds do not meet." Meeting refers to simultaneity. Regarding the impossibility of dedication itself, it is said: "That mind also cannot dedicate by its own nature." The mind of conceptualization is without self-nature, and it is shown that the absence of things cannot serve as the meaning of dedication. In this way, when the permanent one dedicates cessation with characteristics, Indra, having rejoiced, said: "Noble Subhuti," etc., to the newly

Because of its extreme profundity before those who have entered, it is the intention of what is called unspeakable. In this way, it is impossible to dedicate to those who have newly entered the vehicle. And the elder himself inquires about the nature of rejoicing and dedication, such as the noble Subhuti also asks "how" and so on. Bodhisattva means one who has newly entered the vehicle. Here, for the sake of the elder Maitreya himself answering, it clarifies the intention of Indra's question, and shows that he is asking, such as "Then the elder, the venerable Subhuti" and so on. To begin is from gaining control. What is said as "how" is for "having as a basis." The basis is taken as the support for questioning. How is that so? Here, by the term called Maitreya. To that he spoke. Starting from "Maitreya here," up to "how the perverted perception does not change" and so on. Previously, because of the entry of non-things and non-objects, the perversion of perception and so on was shown. Thus, the mind of rejoicing and the mind of dedication, with four aspects such as non-encounter as characteristics, it is said that dedication is unreasonable. Whichever one the elder himself said immediately after that, that is what it refers to, that is, the difference of "how the perversion of perception and so on does not change for the new ones." The noble Maitreya, in this way, for the new ones, by the power of learning, the rejoicing and dedication of non-objectification and union are the correct arising. Otherwise, what is said as perversion itself, such as the noble Subhuti "if" and so on. Because there is no perception of mind and so on, it does not change into perversion, this is the first answer. With what mind does one dedicate, means with what mind does one make dedication. In this way, it is for holding well. Dedication means very dedication. Said for the purpose of clarifying, how and so on.

Thus, and so forth, gathers the meaning. If at what stage does it become inverted? Therefore, it is said, "Thus, and so forth." Now, regarding the mind of rejoicing and the mind of dedication, because of having the nature of exhaustion, and because of having no Bodhi, because of emptiness, the dedication of all dharmas is nonexistent, therefore, in the ultimate sense, there is no dedication. Thinking thus and dedicating, it is a true dedication, this is the second. To show that meaning, it is said, "If again," and so forth. What mind is dedicated? It means becoming dedicated. "Thus, knowing truly" is a summary. "Such a mind" is an extensive explanation, meaning to attend without inversion. "Those," and so forth, means it is connected to thinking thus in that mind. Exhaustion is because it is the nature of the past. Attending with the aspects of exhaustion, and so forth, "unable" means because of the nature of non-existence, like a rabbit's horn. "Their dharmata is also thus" means the nature of no self-nature. Which dharmas? It means those born from the mind, and so on. To which dharmas? It means to perfect Bodhi, and so on. "If thus," and so forth, gathers the meaning, this is said referring to the past Buddhas, because they are the main ones. And the third is said in relation to the future Buddhas, meaning "Noble Subhuti, furthermore," and so forth. And the fourth is said referring to those appearing in the present, meaning "Noble Subhuti, furthermore," and so forth. And again, summarizing into one, it means regarding the Bodhisattvas of the past, future, and present, and the vehicles of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and the virtuous deeds of each individual being, all are rejoiced and dedicated, attending to them, because of exhaustion, until the nature of the extremely pure dharmata of Bodhi, reaching the highest with inexhaustibility.
