Because there is not. Limitless is immeasurable. What is called space is the definite arising of form, and this word is for the meaning of beings relying on it. Limitless space is limitless itself. That itself is the place of birth, from the gate of the place of birth, what is called the gate of mind is the place of birth. One who has entered into absorption is because he has attained and realized it. The one who abides is abiding nearby. Here, having completely transcended the perception of form, with the object of limitless space, with the characteristic of one-pointedness of mind, the attachment to form is completely pacified, and each is placed near, which is its absorption. The second is because of completely transcending the first absorption. What is called limitless consciousness is called consciousness because it distinguishes. Limitless consciousness itself is the place of birth, like the beginning and the end. Furthermore, consciousness is called limitless because it is not form, because there is no complete cutting off of what is to be grasped. Because of holding limitless space, it is called limitless, these are some other sayings. Or due to special interest, or due to the decrease of the formless limbs in meditation, it will truly enter. However, because the object is completely transcended, because the perceptions of those forms and so on are far away, having the perception of practicing truly, having completely transcended the limitless space birth place, seeing the fault of the ultimate desire, for those who are determined to arise, seeing the pacified limitless consciousness birth place as the object, is the characteristic of one-pointedness of mind. The third is completely transcending the second, saying that there is nothing, the thing that has nothing is nothing, that itself is the place of birth, is the support of mind holding. The first is completely transcending the perception of form and so on, for the second it is the idea of limitless space. Here, what is the fault of the idea of limitless space? Those themselves are limitless and complete, when it becomes doubtful, as said before, without a little attention, consciousness does not remain. Thus, this ultimate desire of the limitless consciousness birth place is a fault.
