Merely expressing does not allow one to hear. However, like this, the sound does not express meaning, nor is it negated by the nature of what should not be expressed as its external meaning. The nature of other-powered is far from the nature of consciousness. Therefore, all the dharmas previously spoken become harmful to the very nature of emptiness. However, if not even a single letter is spoken, nor is it heard, then the appearance shown there and the appearance heard are the intent of what is called the completely imputed, like dreams, emanations, reflections, and illusions. At that time, even so, since all dharmas are without inherent existence, what difference is there between the establishment of non-abiding and the establishment of what cannot be expressed? Here it is to be said that what is completely defiled by the habits of beginningless false speech is the completely imputed. This, unlike the other-powered, is not produced by causes and conditions. Its own nature does not appear either. However, due to the power of discrimination taken by ignorance, the other-powered itself appears separately. Therefore, for the completely imputed, the discrimination of speech and so forth is inverted. Because it is absent, the appearance of external objects itself is inverted. It does not abide by the nature of what cannot be expressed. However, for the inverted, merely the nature of false appearances, like dreams and so forth, becomes even more superior. That is also because it is determined to be false by the emptiness of meaning, just as knowing, because it is false, it is merely inverted. Likewise, for the sake of the meaning of the establishment that all dharmas do not abide by the characteristic of non-apprehension, the sons of the gods should first enter into it with a profound nature, through this door of meditating on the non-completely imputed. It is also said how those who enter discriminate with joy. From then on, it starts from "those" and so on. It is clear that for us, it is the establishment of non-abiding that can be grasped. Joy is a word of two answers. Because it is far from the realm of worldly, subtle, and Buddha's activity. Because there is no activity, it is more subtle than subtle. Because it is difficult to grasp, it is more profound than profound. By the characteristic of what cannot be expressed.

It is far more profound than meaning, entering into a more profound realm, entering into the meaning of the characteristic of the most profound, non-abiding practice, which is comprehended by the mind. Explaining is comprehended by the place. Explaining is comprehended by meaning. For this unspeakable teaching, other fruits are spoken of, such as "therefore" and so on. The so-called "for this patience" refers to the characteristics of sound, etc., that can be heard and cannot be heard. The meaning is this: for that which is not the object of sound, nor the object of the discrimination of all dharmas, because sound and discrimination are mutually causal. Likewise, any Śrāvaka who wishes to abandon only the obscuration of afflictions can only generate it through this patience. Because afflictions do not arise from the place of afflictions, even if they exist, afflictions do not exist for those who are free from desire. However, from the discriminations themselves, which have the characteristic of discriminations of desire and non-desire, afflictions and so on arise. Therefore, for that obscuration of afflictions, this patience also has a cause. Precisely because of this, on the bodhisattva ground, the perception of all dharmas, the sudden perception, is shown to be approximated by being in accordance with all pure dharmas. As it is said, "The perception of all dharmas and the sudden perception, if the mind is directed towards the impure, if this itself is dependent origination." The difference is that the Śrāvaka only realizes that it is not the object of discrimination on the dharmas, but it is not separated from its own nature. The Bodhisattva, through not being the object of discrimination, realizes that it does not exist at all in the meaning of the imputed, simply because that is the nature. The so-called "what is the nature of listening to the Dharma" means that if the ultimate truth is unspeakable, and the speaker and listener do not exist, then the listeners of the Dharma will not exist either, which indicates this. Therefore, Subhūti listens to the Dharma of the ultimate truth.
