For those who manifestly increase through the stages of hearing, thinking, and meditating, and are encompassed by the means of purifying the realm of Dharma, the meaning of universal going, as well as the supreme meaning, the harmonious meaning, the meaning of non-attachment, the meaning of non-difference, the meaning of complete purification of all defilements, the meaning of non-manifoldness, the meaning of neither decrease nor increase, the meaning of mastery over wisdom, the meaning of mastery over the doors of dharani and samadhi, by making manifest the distinctions of suchness, by dwelling on ground after ground and attaining purity that is ever greater, thereby obtaining the distinction of realization, whatever causes the attainment of the distinction of realization, those are also the cause of attaining the Perfection of Wisdom, and therefore they attain the very name of the Perfection of Wisdom. Whatever realization, this Dharma that is in harmony with the Dharma-nature, is also the Perfection of Wisdom. Therefore, one should understand the meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom from its nature, from that which is in accordance with it, and from its harmonious cause. As it is said: Wisdom gone to the other shore, is non-dual, that wisdom is the Tathagata, combined with the meaning to be attained, the pure path is sound. Thus it is said. Therefore, this is related to "This is what follows from that which was said." The so-called "One should investigate this" means that one should engage in hearing and thinking, and so forth. Thus, after generally explaining the practice of Dharma, the particular explanation is: The so-called "Should be heard," etc., the so-called "Should be equalized" is in terms of the text and the meaning. Among them, the three types of letter practice are explained, namely, the so-called "Should be grasped," etc., grasping is to make it abide in the heart. The so-called "Should be purified" means that it should not be forgotten. The so-called "Should be recited," with this, the cause of grasping and holding—recitation—is explained. The practice in terms of meaning is explained, namely, the so-called "Should be fully understood," in order to comprehend the meaning from others, and in order to fully understand what one has thought about oneself in the inner self from others. This is the practice for one's own benefit. What is explained for the benefit of others is: The so-called "Should be well explained," widely for the sake of other beings.
